Right after having a few minutes to settle down, here are my team ratings with explanation:

Mignolet: 4 - could of done better for both goals. To stiff diving

O'Shea: 6 - decent outing, few stupid challenges but overall good
Brown: 5 - could of been more but his foul conceded the free kick which went in
Turner: 6 - looked solid, getting better & match fit in every game
Richardson: 7 - has many doubters but did well against Walcott, good game

Elmo: 4 - had a shocking game. Offered nothing other than pace, which he did nothing with
Vaughan: 6 - was ok, passed well but nothing great. Needless yellow.
Cattermole: 8 - edges my MOTM, battled well, passed well and got in good positions. Unlucky that Szchesny saved the header. Also no yellow card!
Colback: 6 - ticked things over, good passing. Should of done better at his chance
Larsson: 7 - brilliant free kick, battled hard and pressed. Shame he has a broken toe

Sessegnon: 8 - considering he's not a striker he was brilliant up top. Held it up well for his size, and was lively. Looking forward to him and Bendnter against Bolton

    Subs:

Ji: 6 - looked lively and took his disallowed goal well
Wickham: 5 - needs more of a chance by Bruce really, shame looks decent
Gardner: 5 - cameo, did nothing

    Manager:

Bruce: 5 - Handicapped us at the start, but we seemed to play well. Strange changes, would of kept Sessegnon on and replaced Elmo. I think he needs to look at the fact we played better in the last 10 mins attacking at 4-4-2...
However don't judge him on this game, judge him and his future on the up and coming games.

    Your opinions and ratings??

Agree with your ratings. Thought Elmo was beyond awful, he would just run at a man and then stop and let him tackle him.

Cattermole did well, you could see it took him great effort to not jump in but his passing was decent.

Would like to see this team next week.

    Westwood
    Bardo/Turner/Brown/O'shea
    Larsson/Cattermole/Vaughan/Sess
    Wickham/Bendter

that team would do me. In fact that would be our strongest team atm. Catts was a great captain today, sess clearly wanted to be on the wing.

Couldn't give any of them more than a 6.

As for the manager, his rating would be so far into the minus

Agree with you both (and we need Gordon fit!) so long as we use Ji too in games, ie, bring him on as a sub or play him and bring on Wickham instead -Meyler too, I want to see him on the pitch.

I like Ji, he brings enthusiasm and energy too the team, but atm he is not ready physically for the Pl, sure he looks a sharp finisher but most of the time he gets pushed off the ball to easily or outpaced.

Wickham on the otherhand, I feel would thrive off the game time, he is a big lad and I'm sure would go from strength to strength if Bruce just gave him a start.

take it that was sarcasm, and yes Gordon will win us games, lets remember a few last season. Blackpool away 2-1, Bolton home 1-0, Tottenham 1-1 (i know its not a win but got us a draw), theres 7 points already...4

I think you're wrong. A goalie depends on the 4 in front of him, plus his own skill, then plenty of luck.

Our back 4 cant do it. If you want to argue, look at this season's record. His own skill? Lets talk Stoke, Manure, Everton, etc. He's a lucky guy too, isn't he - I mean, he hasn't been involved with the team these last 9 months.

I don't know what your on about, you on about Gordon being lucky?? If your referring to the Stoke game he got no protection from the ref, and he was carrying an injury.

Also, your back 4 are as strong as your keeper. If you have a bad keeper, your defence won't be as good.

I'm a keeper, and I know that if I don't command my area, or I'm dodgy my defence will be worried and not play as well.

    Team rating = 5.

    Bruce rating = 2.

I cannot find any justification for giving a manager anything above 2 who is prepaired to start a premier league game without a recognised striker on the pitch whilst 2 sit on the bench. It speaks volumes for how much he has ****ed up in the transfer market...

He commands it better than Mignolet...

But I agree Gordon would be much better if he could command is 18 yrs a lot more... but you can't deny he is still a hell of a keeper

    Ref. your ratings;

I don't disagree with them in the main apart from one.
I thought Vaughan had a decent game.
He always found his man with his passes and looked quite comfortable. He rarely messes up.

Out of all the summer signings I reckon Vaughan will turn out to be the most consistent.

Sorry but did you actually watch the game?

Cattermole was the worst player on the pitch apart from elmo, he is so slow he made rosicky look like a speed merchant, gave the ball away at will. Not worth a shirt never mind the armband.
