Rashica also plays as a striker and Omotoye if he doesn't go out on loan, but we'd still need another striker IMO.
With Pukki returning from the Euros with 1 positive match the delayed game against Denmark after returning from Injury and failing to score or hit any sort of form. We are desperately short of talent up front with Idah registering 2 goals and Hugill on 4 in all competitions we desperately need back up . I haven't got any suggestions but the lazy option is to buy the top scorer in the Championship and hope he can make the step up . I'm guessing the changes to signing overseas players has made it a bit awkward unless they are Internationals and International strikers can be costly. Webber pull a rabbit out of a hat please
I suspect Toney might not be available this summer... Out of curiosity: Toney (33 goals) - promoted Armstrong (28 goals) - probably costing £15m Pukki (26 goals) Kieffer Moore (20 goals) - can't see that working out with Farke's style... Lucas Joao (19) - can't see Reading selling for cheap Danjuma (17) - if we can't get Billing, can't see us affording Danjuma Ayew (17) - free agent, but apparently Palace are going to pay him £80k p/w... Buendia (15) - Solanke (15) - as Danjuma And then rapidly you're into the 10-12 goal range of established Championship players who've hit their ceiling, and the type Hugill was before we signed him.
Given that none of us yet have much of an idea about how exactly we're going to play this season, who knows what sort of striker we're looking for? The most we can say is that Idah fits the blueprint but Hugill apparently does not.
https://theathletic.com/2707135/202...ikely-to-impede-kounde-move/?source=twitteruk The Athletic think Spurs are close to signing a RB/CB, which would Aarons wouldn't be such a priority signing for them.
https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/canaries-myenty-abena-transfer-rumour-8148976 Impressive for the club to have issued a denial to the Pinkun before I've even seen the original rumour.
Ajer to Brentford for £13.5m appears to be approaching completion. Outbid by a fellow promoted club, ouch.
I can’t see SW/DF letting Hugill out on loan unless they have a replacement in mind. Still some way to go before the transfer window closes.
Jacob Lungi Sorensen has extended his contract through to 2024, with a club option for another year. https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/canaries-jacob-sorensen-contract-analysis-8148400
Matthew Benham's Brentford obviously see EPL value in an upgrade at RCB, the current incumbent being a good Championship quality 30 year-old, capped many times by his small country .........
Delighted with this, he looked really composed for a young guy coming into a new team in a position he hadn’t played before. I’m really looking forward to what his future holds, I hope he can get more minutes in midfield this year and try to nail down a starting spot. As others have mentioned, he could be the DM we are looking for, but it would be a massive risk not to recruit someone else there.
No point getting involved in a bidding war, Brentford are much richer than us. Webber obviously had a ceiling price for this and isn’t willing to go above that, he’s got to be commended for that, too many times in the past we have paid over the odds for players which put us in the mess we were in a few years back. I know there will be some that think we should just match the offer. It’s doesn’t sound like a huge difference between £10m to £13.5m but it’s a 35% increase, and that £3.5m figure has just bought us an experienced player from the top French league.
It sounds like the amount of noise around Ajer has been much greater than the club's actual interest, presumably because Ajer wants out and his agent is making news to apply pressure. Pinkun seem to think a £10m bid was made back in May, and there's been nothing since that was rejected.
