Maybe but it's more of a balanced assessment than most utd or Liverpool fans.

De Geas been playing quality lately, everytime i've seen him on match of the day lately / on t.v his made some great saves, quite annoying really as i thought if he carried on flapping like the beginning for the rest of the season then that was a big advantage that would help us get the league back from you this season

Whether or not Adam went down like a sack of potatoes isn't what caused us to concede. It was the wall not doing it's job. Simple as that.

You can't blame the ref, there was contact and Adam made the most of it, and like Nev said on SS, if there is contact, you are entitled to go down (maybe not 10 years later like Adam did...), that is just the climate of football these days.

I think Ferdinand called it right though, he said there was contact but I'm pretty sure it wasn't enough to knock Adam down. Considering that he wasn't at full speed. He had slowed down by the time he reached the edge of the box.

Saw it on match of the day before and for me, never a free kick in a million years. To actually see the contact they needed to use zoom x 100000 just to see it.

Adam should be ashamed of himself. Especially considering what happened to his country just the other week.

Stink of desperation. Giggs had a brain fart = Liverpool goal. I mean what was he doing flinching away from the ball like that? You link arms and don't brake away from the wall. Kids stuff ffs.

Let's be honest. For whatever reason, Sir Alex set out for a draw from the first minute to the last. Regardless of whether Adam dived or not, we were not winning that match with the tactics we adopted. Also, had Giggs focused on making the block, rather than protecting his most prolific body part, we wouldn't have conceded.

The diving was a sad characteristic of yesterdays match and it wasn't just Liverpool. Young, having already been booked, dived to win a free kick on the edge of the box early in the second half. He could easily have been given a second yellow and walked. So let's not complain about it. We got more than we deserved in terms of the result yesterday so I'm just thankful really.

Liverpool fans should remember Ferdinand coming out and saying there was contact. He should be applauded for that. Rewind 9 months and Agger's minimal contact on Berbatov in the FA Cup, your gracious manager come out and said it was a joke.

Not very sportsman like then was he. But yeah everything goes against Liverpool.

Rooney has learnt? Rooney is unable to learn, his retarded outburst and red card against Montenegro has shown us that.

To be fair I would say it's a foul every time someone has clear control of the ball and is clipped, even slightly, by someone trying to tackle them who doesn't make contact with the ball. As SAF said before when asked about Ronaldo, if you're running at full pelt it doesn't take much to knock you off balance, particularly when you're concentrating on the ball at the same time. Even if you don't go to ground, the contact can make the difference between keeping control and losing the ball. I remember in the CL against Chelsea last year Nani was clean through and got slightly clipped by Essien. He didn't lose his footing, but the contact was enough to knock him out of his stride and let Cech just beat him to the ball.

Re: the decisions, yes Liverpool got more decisions than us yesterday, but that's just standard for a big team playing at home. It's been shown time and time again that refs have a subconcious bias in favour of the home team, and that bias gets larger with the profile of the home team, the quality of the home team and the size of the crowd. It's why we get more decisions at OT - we're the biggest team in England, arguably the best, and always attract the biggest crowds. It's a bit ****, but as long as we have human refs it's gonna be hard to get rid of.

Yeah you know what you're going to get at Anfield ie the square root of **** all! But I don't think the ref did too badly all in all. United - Liverpool is never an easy game to ref.

"King Kenny" has started watching replays again too I see. He's convinced that was a penalty for the ball striking Evans on the arm. Save an actual amputation, it's hard to see how Evans could have done more to get his arm out of the way! And there was a virtually identical incident in the Liverpool penalty area later. I guess Kenny didn't see that one!

I think the ref was pretty consistent if nothing else. Yes, Adam simulated a lot to win his free kick, but then so did Young. The ref gave free kicks both times. Likewise, as you said he turned down both penalty shouts which were pretty much equivalent, so again he showed consistency. Which is all you can really ask for in the end.
