Only in your head you daft sod <laugh>

Lets be honest here whilst some on here might be able to give a fair, honest appraisal about England's strength's and weaknesses, you probably could never get on board because none of your players featured. And the one who possibly could, ended up being blanked then injured.

Bitter as fck MITO la ;)

Btw on Italy. I've lauded praise on them throughout but... Di Lorenzo although having the appearance of a beast is without doubt their ****test player.

I dunno, they had a few who struggled with the deep block.

The frustrating thing is emerson was not targeted by us. He had an easy game.going forward mostly.

Fail to see what I got wrong about the England squad.

Didn't savage the squad or say its aload of crap. Also didn't say the Mancs are a bunch of ****e ****ers.... although <whistle> (Note this is a joke)

I said there were still things the England squad lacked.

The Goalkeeper, at the moment Pickford is no1. But if people are being honest he's not a Worldclass keeper, nor ever will be. He's crap in the air and his goal kicking whilst long is wayward, not mention he can be hyper and be all over the place in games. He's a Good Prem keeper but wouldn't cut it in a title challenging team.

The CBs. Again didn't have a pop at Stones or Maguire, rather said they were the best England currently had to offer, but like Pickford wouldn't be considered WC but rather good defenders. Consider that Stones has been in and out of the City side for the last few seasons, clearly he's not top draw or he'd been commanding their backline rather than Laporte and then Dias.
Then there is a drop off to Mings and Coady who are solid Prem players and aside from Gomez, there isn't much more England have at international standard, so lack depth.

As to the leadership, guess thats a personal opinion. Kane has never struck me as a good cpt, nor it seems do Spurs or they'd have made him Cpt in order to keep him sweet.

England have a good squad and going forward to Qatar they should be expected to do well. However there are issues to be looked at in the next 18months.

I mean if the Squad was perfect they'd have walked the Euros and wouldn't have lost on Pens. And those issues about the GK and CBs were talked about alot before the Euros as being Englands biggest weaknesses.

Personally my biggest worry about England is the CM position which is workman like imo.

Imo if we want to step up 10 yards (and it would be about that at times) then pickford.must go. I dont agree he is a good keeper, hes bang average shot stopper with shag all other ability.

The problem.is nobody else is a sweeper either.

Ederson and alisson allow their respective teams play on the half way line. Its massive to how both teams play.

Stone can play the high line. Walker can play it. The other two are mancs so we dont know if henderson, maguire and shaw could even function that way as they are not asked to at utd. I have to assume shaw would be fine as he has pace.

Maguire is slow. He enjoyed. It being really pressed and being able to step out and that but he isnt one on one and has so.much cover it's easy doing it. To give him credit he did it as well as chiellini did and cleared everything.

I personally think the negativity was down to style and approach and england can raise their game massively.

I just think if you look at the european keepers theres not that many that do better.

Schmeichel was good but he is no sweeper and denmark played with 3 deep as well.

France have lloris who used to be good at it.

I didnt see much of it from donnamura.

    Belgium have courtois

Neuer is nowhere near his best but still in for germany.

Wouldn't that be solved with giving mount and foden thier head in the middle.

neither are true central midfielders though Mount may learn to be one but Foden is far more an attacking midfielder / deep forward . I just think we rarely if rvrt seem to produce players who might not look that great but when you watch they hold a team together and give them a foothold both out of defence but also going forward i.e. a Modric who for years when unnoticed , at least here , as a truly top player .

Mount is at chelsea and they will probably push him forward and ruin him. Hes not got the pace to be hazard or sterling as a lw.

They will replace him with some 100mil player or something.

Foden though is at city and they will play him like kdb if guardiola still is there.

Mount I really like. Hes an absolute machine. Hed suit klopp down to the ground as a no 8. Pressing machine.

I like Mount and Foden but it's hard to get a system with them both playing. It's got the hallmarks to be Gerrard vs Lampard mkII

Exactly my thoughts the other day.

Both shoehorned into the Croatia match and aside from hitting the post neither did anything.
