He’s a nice guy. Says the right things. Apparently he makes the hard choices. He kept his best players on the bench. He played mount who did nothing for 90 minutes and he kept him on. Kane had another shocker (he did anyone who tells me a striker who has no strikes at goal Isn’t having a shocker needs to go and shove their head in a microwave) and he kept him on. For what. He brought on Saka (not grealish) who looked like a rabbit in the headlights. Then brings on Henderson? Why! Then the penalty king Southgate throws on two kids. To take penalties. On 120 minutes. And they both miss: that’s called total ****ing karma. We should have gone for a 2nd goal. Rather than sitting deep for 119 minutes.
It's not the same feeling as when the team you passionately support wins something. That's two finals, this and the rugby final where it was the best chance to have that feeling and fallen short at the final hurdle. Still can't fault the team and attitude of these players, reminds me of when France lost their euros final and went on to win the World Cup, could be the catalyst we need to finally get over the Alan Pardew line!
I remember caring and I feel for you mate I was gutted in 90 and 96, but these days I hate my country in general, so I don't care. Maybe if England give up the its coming home ****e they'll find life easier. It provokes the other team.
Until we change out mentality from trying not to lose to trying to win: we won’t win. That’s a defender manager problem. We should have tried to win. If we did: we would have.
England are not the big nation they think they're in football. 1 world cup no European cups It's really like newcastle.. A really good manager could have won this one though
People will talk of the marvelous job Southgate is doing but the crop of player he has is superior to any England manager before him for 20 years....the depth of squad and bench is crazy yet he doesn't utilise any of it.... Every major hurdle he has failed at with the exception of Germany.... Trully think he is one of the most overrated managers going.
They need to get rid of Southgate before he fails to utilise one of the best generations of English talent.... But alas, the media will continue to forn over him as he says the right things etc...
It’s a woke world mate your not allowed to criticise players or the manager. We have to encourage and accept failure. This new world is all about accepting failure and weakness.
Very true, the pragmatic approach has worked so far but that Italian side were there for the taking and we failed to capitalise on that. That's why this loss is hard to take! If there's no take over I'm just going to give up on sport entirely. Must be great to have a team that wins something occasionally!
