just had a weekly teams meeting at work, the boss played World In Motion as introduction, 2 ****ing weirdos asked if we could just crack on with the meeting. they werent even the scottish ones either, just weird weird weirdos
preferred the good old days when they would have just had a page 3 girl in England underwear. simpler times.
I just read this on the Euro 2020 site and thought it worth sharing: While the bulk of leading English clubs had turned professional by the end of the 19th century, Danish football remained amateur, with the top players moving abroad and England was to be the destination for some of them, notably Karl Aage Hansen (Huddersfield) and Viggo Jensen (Hull City), who were among the stars of the Denmark side that finished third at the 1948 Olympics, beating Great Britain 5-3 at Wembley in the bronze-medal match. One of their international team-mates, Eigil Nielsen, perhaps had a bigger impact on football all over the world. A leather and shoe industry worker by day, the goalkeeper is credited with devising the 32-panel soccer ball (20 hexagonal and 12 pentagonal patches). First introduced in 1962, it remains the standard design for all match balls. I hope Schmeichel gets a close up of Nielsen's design as he picks the ball out of the back of his net on several occasions!
enough of the pleasantries now with Denmark, tragic what happened and thankfully he is ok , but they lost 2 games already. Schmeichel is getting lippy, and lets put too bed the heroics of 92, only 8 teams in the bastard thing and they only won 2 games whole tournament. **** em, 2-1 England
it is a bit like that sometimes, at the start of the pandemic we got some bad news that one of our colleagues was quite ill with covid ,and he told us all and passed on best wishes and it was quite sombre and quiet .. then straight away he goes, now for a bit of fun next week i want everybody to choose a song which is related to covid and we'l play them all , it was pure Partridge
Reality is, if we play anywhere near our best, there is no way Denmark should be able to cope. To put it in context, it's a bit like a decent Championship side against a top 6 PL side. They have nowhere near the depth of quality and options we have. Of course, upsets happen in football, but I feel very confident about tonight without being cocky. Just realism. Nervous still though, which is only natural. I think we have enough to beat Italy too, but first things first.
cant rememeber to be honest, i just found it funny how unaware he was. "geoff is in a bad way, his wife and 2 kids are with him in hospital, we are all thinking of him and sending our thoughts and wishes.....anyway for a bit of fun" ..still cracks me up now , i actually refused to do it as i thought it was insensitive ( and i couldnt be arsed )
A warm balmy evening with a gentle breeze at Wembley Stadium. A home game in front of 60k fans (that might work one of two ways) .... early goal, settle any nerves.... what could possibly go wrong...? 4 zip...
Oh they had that too today.... However, the Danes are not so today was their newspaper didn't bother with the Danish undies (or a top).....
