Nothing. By 5pm on the 12th the PL will have submitted yet another response relating to arbitration. There'll then be a date set and the hearing will take about a week. The likes of Staveley and Ashley are trying to apply pressure to make it public, but that will probably fail as there's already been a ruling on the hearing being private. I don't think that's why they're doing it - they're trying to make it very hard for arbitration (which is purely about separation of KSA from PIF) to fail, by suggesting a bad finding will be proof of corruption. My worry with this is I don't think the PL give a **** anymore. They're on their way out so will almost certainly just take the hit. The pathetic fines for the ESL is all the evidence that's needed.
Yes. This. The game’s up for the EPL over the coming 2 years - or at least for the execs on it - dirt will come out and heads will roll. But it’ll be personnel sacrifices with rich payoffs and a ticket onto the next gravy train as recompense for “taking one for the team”. PIF will have disappeared by the time that all comes around because these ****s will go down only after they’ve made sure we get nothing. I bet they hate NUFC and all its support - all the while maintaining a straight face and saying it’s the rules it’s the rules, we’d love to help but it’s the rules.
Indeed. The language of Ashley is typically bullish, but Staveley seems a lot more desperate. All of this is orchestrated, it's all green lit and thumbs up from PR and legal. Possibly Ashley's making as he saw the negative press on the hypocrisy of him calling for transparency, so instead wheeled out "hearts & minds" Staveley to support the effort. Will it work? We all hope so, I just think the PL are a cornered animal and will fight til the death on it. Ultimately, if the pay masters of Liverpool, Man U, Spurs do not want this to happen, it simply won't happen and genuinely there's nothing we can do about it. So the very exec board that should have been DQ's for their ESL involvement will continue to promote the narrative and hide conveniently behind Masters. It's incredible, really, that this much corruption can be so brazen and yet nothing can be done. Well, I say that, but I think Ashley has the bit between his teeth on this one so maybe there's more to come. I don't think Ashley is accepting defeat in it.
