WTF is the matter with these idiots! He's supposed to be a knowledgable football man yet obviously just spouts the same nonsense that opposition supporters are always flinging at us. Portsmouth CEO pinpoints Sunderland, Ipswich and Wigan spending 'huge money' in bid for League One promotion https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...money-in-bid-for-league-one-promotion-3296219
Well he's really done his homework there then, now rich owner equals big spending despite the fact that so far our lass has spent more on groceries than we've spent in the transfer market, unless of course he has inside info and were going to bust the bank before the weekend which I very much doubt. The man is showing himself up.
the old 'if we don't get promoted we have already laid the blame elsewhere' quote... i very much doubt this, after the past year there will be very little cash floating around the lower leagues, regardless of takeovers, many will have to rely on selling/freeing wages before moving in the market and freebies will be to the fore...just because someone has a bit money does not mean they are going to splash it around.
To be fair to him he is likely to know the sorts of wages we are offering. I could imagine if we have got O'Nien signing on again he will have an idea on the wage we have offered. It is also widely reported we have bid £1m for Sanderson. I fully expect we will have spent a good amount of money by the end of the window, both in terms of wages and in terms of fees. You could even point to paying a fee for Stewart when nobody else dared spend anything.
i liked the other story on there the young striker that can leave as he is free https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...als-sunderland-3295706?itm_source=parsely-api
Man's just a twat. No need to analyse it to death. These idiots like to get their excuses in early, is all...
Annoys me when I read things like ‘will he be able to handle the pressure of moving to a big club like Sunderland’ we are league one as well and have been for the last three years. Literally makes us sound arrogant as ****. Would be a good signing though.
Exactly Can't remember which manager said it in our first season down, but basically alluding to the fact that there was only one automatic promotion slot to play for as we were "gone, as far as the rest of the league is concerned" - to be fair, we probably should have been. In fact we would have had we appointed an experienced manager instead of a novice likely to cack his pants at 1-0 up
Looking more and more like he was onto something doesnt it? Wigan and Wyke. Us and O'Nien. Both 3 year contracts, could we be what he is talking about. Pritchard as well apparently had championship offers that couldnt match ours. Heres hoping this accusation we throw our financial muscle around comes true and we finish top.
