Excellent from England, but it has to be said that Ukraine are awful. Still, into the semis without conceding a goal, brilliant. Favourites to win it now. What a final it could be with an attacking Italy against a defensive England.
They did brilliantly to get to the quarters. The teams which finished third in their groups and qualified have done very well. I thought the support from England’s expatriate fans was excellent.
Excellent performance, played within ourselves. And did not get a second yellow for Phillips, Rice or McGuire. Couple of goals for Harry Kane A very good evening at the office
Nah, Denmark are running on emotion, our players are better than theirs, pretty straightforward at home.
Well done to England. Bumped into a london black Cab in full honking mode in the middle of south tuscany countryside.wish i had taken a video.
That was hilarious and reminds me how different a tournament felt almost 2 years ago. Almost no honking in Germany, no car flags, no atmosphere all around (apart from the fact that the German team was sh#t#).
What I have liked so far is the England team seem a pretty tight unit. Although we dont get to see what is going on in the camp, they the players all know that they have all played a part in getting to where we are now. Players that have impressed me most are Pickford and Phillips. Phillips was a player that always seemed to leave his leg in a challenge and was partial to a yellow card or two, however he has grown up a bit. Pickford usually someone that has a loss of concentration but he has been spot on. John Stones another that has had a couple of tricky years has gone about his business virtually unseen. Sterling - this tournament will probably be the competition that sees him leave the UK for another big side however who can afford him? The right manager with the right backing team have done very well so far. I have always been sceptical of watching England - they always seem to promise a lot (mainly because our press build the team up too much and the players believe in the hype) and I prefer club football where you can see talent nurtured and developed. Fans always expect England to win friendlies when they should be the games to try out formations and players on the fringe.
