I can't find the link, so it's maybe been deleted, but I laughed at an article I read a year or two back about the unveiling of a new charging point in one town. All the dignitaries duly frocked up and rocked up to the ceremony, only to find a few caravans from the travelling community had already claimed first go. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Nissan is to announce a major expansion of battery production in Sunderland creating thousands of new jobs both directly and in the supply chain.

The firm, which already makes the Leaf electric car in Sunderland, may also announce the launch of a brand new electric model.

So after 5 pages it looks those who have got one are largely company car users who get a much better bik rate.

Have not read all the posts but I'll be sticking with my diesel for as long as possible. Road Tax £0 below emissions level, about 70mph on a long run and 50-60mph on local short runs. Loughboro Uni developed ACCT ( Ammonia Creation and Conversion Technology ) to further reduce Nox emissions.
    https://www.lboro.ac.uk/enterprise/acct/ worth a look.
Thought this would have been installed in all new vehicles.

My son drives a Tesla and mentioned an incident a couple of weeks back where a guide dog took its owner for walk across the road right in front of him, had to slam the anchors on. For that reason I'll continue driving around in my 5L petrol (for now), I'm particularly safety conscious :1980_boogie_down:

    That's going some if you're in a 30 zone.

The future ban on diesel sales and push for electric vehicles has meant there's little incentive for the big manufacturers to invest in cleaner technology for the engines. It means less cleaner air for the short to medium term.

it's good to see an old idea like that come to fruition, but crowded skies (if that's relevant) would soon get busy, and any collision could involve a whole load of people/buildings/things on the ground. there'd have to be some sort of pilot licence for driving them, because far too many drivers don't have adequate competence for drving on the ground.

For want of a better word for the scum, "boy racers". Can you imagine what it'd be like in the sky with those ****ers going about in stolen vehicles.

The prospect of any old Tom, Dick or Harry flying these things around is horrifying!

Maybe the guide dog needs a guide dog as well?
