Good Morning. It's Friday 2nd July, and here are the latest headlines from Road Firpo to undergo medical this weekend Junior Firpo will fly to the UK this weekend to undergo his medical, before penning a four year deal at Elland Road. The news came from Barcelona sports radio broadcaster Gerard Romero from his official twitter account. Translated from Catalan, his statement reads :- "Tomorrow the Barça-Leeds agreement has to be closed, the variables need to be defined. The fixed will be around 15M. The player will travel this weekend to the United Kingdom to undergo a medical examination and sign a 4-year contract." Traore available for 20m Telegraph journalist Matt Law has stated that Wolves winger Adama Traore could be available this Summer for as little as 20m. Speaking on the 'London Is Blue' podcast last, Law stated:- “WOLVES HAVE GOT MONEY PROBLEMS, WOLVES HAVE GOT ISSUES, AND HE’S NOT SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT YET. I THINK YOU’RE LOOKING AT SORT OF £20 MILLION – £25 MILLION, WHICH IS SENSIBLE MONEY FOR A GOOD SQUAD PLAYER WHO CAN MAKE AN IMPACT.” Is 20m a bargain price for Traore? Would you want him at Leeds, given the opportunity? Does he offer something different? It was only this time last year, that the 25m was valued at 70m! We know Leeds Director of football Victor Orta likes the Spanish International; he signed him for Boro in 2016. He once described the power house as 'the most exciting prospect now in Spain! please log in to view this image Bowyer delivers verdict on Miller move Former fans favourite, now Birmingham Manager Lee Bowyer has spoken about Amari Miller for the first time since his transfer to Leeds earlier this week. The 44yo spent seven years at Elland Road, made 203 appearances and scoring 38 goals. Even though the latter parts of his stay were turbulent, most fans will look on Bowyer with fond memories. Most memorably, he scored an 89th minute winner against AC Milan in the Champion league in 2000. Personally, it was that moment, that put Leeds back on the European map and gave them belief in themselves. Speaking to 'Birmingham Live', the Blues boss was full of praise for Marcelo Bielsa for what he has achieved at Leeds, but believes that time will only tell whether Miller has made the right choice! ‘If he’s in and around the first team and training I have no doubt he will learn and improve.” “I introduced him because I like him. Is he ready to go and start Championship games tomorrow? I don’t believe so. “We would have developed and he would have improved with us and he would have got more game-time with us. “That’s his decision, you know. He is a young lad, he has gone to a good club, I don’t know what they will do with him, but I have to say the manager there, what he has done is exceptional. “If he is in and around the first team and training I have no doubt he will learn and improve. “For his career, I wouldn’t say he has chosen a bad club to go to, I know a lot about the club, it’s an excellent club, but for his development, we will have to wait and see where it goes for now. “He was a great lad, he tried hard, good ability, so I wish him all the best because he is a really, really nice lad, well-mannered, which is important.” please log in to view this image
Morning all Fabrizio Romano told everyone last night on his podcast that the Firpo deal is 100% done and will happen and he will fly in for a medical this weekend. He also said Leeds were struggling with Hertha Berlin and a deal for Cunha may not happen, but Leeds have other options. So I would think this shows we are deffo chasing another top winger and if Cunha is too difficult that leaves No Lang and the Georgian Ruben Kazan flyer Kk, or indeed Noni Madueke The latest on the Nahitan Nandez saga if reports are true, is that an Italian journo spoke to Nandez whilst with the National side (quarter final this weekend against Culumbia) he was asked specifically about Leeds and Bielsa and said he didnt know where he would be next season. We also know he is going somewhere though because Kevin Strootman was flown into Sardinia yesterday and is in negotiations today and will probably be having a medical. Nandez is expensive and could end up at any number of top clubs If Bielsa wants Traore then ok, but in my opinion if Bielsa needs it, is a big no. For me a £70m player starts every game but this fella struggled for starts in a struggling Wolves team, and no sign of him in a poor Spanish team who needed to start scoring. Luckily for Spain they started scoring in the last 2 games.
I loved Bowyer, gave everything for the club. His off field antics didn't bother me personally at all. I don,t think I've heard him say a bad word about the club since leaving, but I could be proved wrong by someone. As for Traore, no thanks. Morning all by the way.
With you all the way there, Shaks. Not sure if I mentioned this before, but Mrs WJ used to be a teacher & one of her colleagues was an ex-cop. Her husband was a Chief Inspector or something like that & I got it from them (at the time) that that particular group of Asians had been getting followed by cctv that evening, as they were (according to the cops) 'just looking for trouble'. Well, they found it. And it was racial, no doubt about that, but not the way you think - they were out to get some white meat. Sadly for them, they picked the wrong lads to confront. And it's them that should have been jailed. But that's the way it goes in the UK these days - sensational newspaper headlines are what's reported & remembered - not the truth, for fear of upsetting the PC mob.
Good Morning to Matt Doc etc from a dull Bardsey Traore I have always liked but recently he has been woeful so 20m is a lot to pay .He seems very lazy so we are replacing Costa with another us similar player I am looking forward to junior joining usand relish the clash v Sancho Disapoointed with the Batley resultbut pleased for Joe Coxs sister
Not a huge bit of news, but very welcome, certainly as far as I'm concerned. Stuart McKinstry has been awarded squad no. 39. Not bad for an 18yo. Hopefully he might get a wee bit of game time this season. https://www.leedsallover.com/squad-number-leak-teases-leeds-united-first-team-reshuffle/
Morning all I’m excited at the thoughts of getting Firpo over the line, the others mentioned I’m not fussed one way or another. We need Klich to regain his form and Rodrigo to have a good season
Never knew that WJ, pity it wasn't picked up by someone and that side of the story reported. It' sounds similar to the asian grooming gangs that seems to have been under investigated at the time.
Sadly in this case, police opinion doesn't qualify as evidence, so it was never going to be permitted. Btw, any idea what the final outcome was? Last I remember was the Asian lad taking civil action, but I don't recall the outcome.
Do you remember when we beat Derby after we were 3-0 down at HT. Bowyer came on in the second half, and he scored the winner.
Young Madueke seems to be a thing right nowfor some reason. I mentioned him last weekend and earlier this week if we were looking at a straightforward quality winger without a massive price tag, and nowdue to greedy clubs and massive price tags for Cunha and Noa Lang this kid just might be it
I do Elland and the song sang was we get knocked down, but we get up again. Thought we were 3.1 down at half time, I can't remember..
Bowyer was a magnificent player for us, tenacious, great engine, skilful and worth a few goals to boot certainly think he would haved loved bielsa ball and just the kind of box to box player fans love... wouldn't mind him at present that's a cert.......traore is a no he should be looking at entering Mr universe instead with those pecs!
Cunha in Dialogue with Rapha on Instagram yesterday. Looked through his posts and never found any other interaction. Rapha spouted alegría which I think means (Joy-Happyness) on his latest post laughing and smiling in the new Leeds training wear, playing some game I think. Cunha replying with "Crack" with a couple of claps. So unless they just done a drug deal they seem to have been in contact of late. All speculation of course as if could mean jack Shyte but heyho they could well of been discussing the Club in the past few weeks.
