Getting his team on the front foot due to excellent footwork. I can see Burge being peddled later in the window.

Please don't use the term 'has been' in a transfer thread - we have signed too many of them in previous seasons and just the use of the phrase makes me shudder!

A keeper is absolute priority. If we are serious about promotion we can’t be going into this season with Burge still as number 1. The problem is I think LJ rates him, hope I’m wrong like.

Agreed. He cost us so many points last season, I’m gutted he’s still here.

There is no way that KLD is pumping loads of money into the infrastructure and backroom staff to then not invest into the playing side. We've all got to trust those in charge.

Doesn't KLD go on about sustainability, being in it for the long term and not worrying about quick success?

In which case isn't it possible SAFC could be left to bumble about in league one until the academy are producing enough of our own quality players to win promotion?

I know thats why he's linked with us a league below. The season before that Stoke paid 7m for him from the Premiership. I wont judge him from one bad season.

True but at 31/32 is he what we need and does he fit the model moving forward. I'm unsure about him to be honest

We’ll need some older heads around the place if we’re looking to build a relatively young squad but I wouldn’t say Vokes is the answer up top.

Wright, Flanagan, McGeady and Winchester are all experienced heads. Lets fill the rest of the squad with you, ambitious, pacey players

Can I just say for the posters that are getting panicky about nobody coming in yet, we can all remember the last day of the window when a certain Roy Keane came in to manage us. Still plenty of very good players at the end of the window available. Relax

If this was their long term plan and they told us that I wouldn't have a problem with it. Just dont leave us guessing.
