I see Wickham is available on a free and without a club....

 

I would take him in a heartbeat. He would cause all sorts of problems for League One defences and alongside Norwood and with proper wingers whipping in crosses we'd have a deadly first choice strike force at this level.

 

Sheffield Wednesday have let go of quite a few of their top players. Adam Reach would be top of my list and Westwood might not be a bad shout.

 

Jack Marriott might prefer going places with Town to going nowhere at a club like Posh.

 

Little bit harsh on posh - they've been banging on the door for a few seasons now. We may have all the resources and the big club status, but you have to hand it to them and their scouting team. They could be the next Bournemouth

 

No chance. It's been the same team there for 15 years now and they will continue to do what they have done up to now, yo yo'd between the Championship and League One.

 

Not sure how you can knock Posh. They're deservedly ahead of both our teams in the football pyramid. It sounds like you have a bad case of sour grapes.

I can't believe any players would choose Ipswich over Peterborough, at the moment. What incentive would they have to do that?

As a player would you prefer to join a massive club with a proud history, fantastic ground and facilities, new owners and investment or a tin pot club with Groundhog Day staff that have never been in the top flight and will fart around in the Championship for a year or two before being relegated again?

I don't get the Downes situation, he's probably our best player, is young and have proven he's a very good player at this level. He's really our biggest asset. There must be something mentally not right, perhaps he wants out. Which is a shame, I feel a club he goes to we may well overtake them at some point, he'd do well to stick with it here a bit longer

 

I'm sure Wickham and Norwood could bond over a coffee in the treatment room

 

Whoever scouts their striker targets should be well scouted

Not bothered about Downes at all.

He's put in a transfer request before and hasn't shown the desire to join Cook's revolution so it's better that we part ways.

 

One of those who, in another era with proper nurturing, could have been a talent. I don’t blame him for wanting away in the past. Hopefully those days are over now and the club can push on.

Won’t be losing sleep over any outgoings.
