Absolutely this. France, with all its talent, should have gone all the way in this tournament. Hard work and a massive team togetherness saw the Swiss through, something the French never had.

Did anyone else pick up after Mbappe missed the penalty he trudged off the pitch and down the tunnel. Very little consolation, if at all from his so called team mates

  3. I lived and worked in France for some years...admittedly a long while ago....I found that as a people they can be self-centred,arrogant and moody.
Team togetherness, when things aren't going well,is not something I would say they're good at.

I wouldnt go as far as switching off because of a woman commentator, but I find it totally unnecessary having one co-commentating on the mens game. There are probably 100's of male ex-players more qualified to give little anectdotal accounts on mens football before a woman, but they shoe horn a woman in because shes a woman, and to pander to a minority of protesters a woman it must be. She's not there on merit basically, which if I was in her shoes I'd be feeling a bit uncomfortable.
I would also say the same for womans football. A women should be commentating on womens football because there will be 100's of women more qualified to do so before a male gets a look in.

2 hours to go. Have to say I am sick of hearing England can make history. It is a last 16 match only. Also sick of hearing this is effectively the semi final with winners having 2 byes afterwards. As last night showed a paper teamsheet is worth nothing.

One game at a time. Stay humble. Play every game like it is the final and be a team. We wont win just because we have Grealish or Kane, we will win if we are a squad fighting for it together. I reckon Southgate has that mentality.

It’s not the fact that they’re women which bothers me, it’s the fact that they’re utterly awful as commentators! My mother hates listening to women commentators on any men’s sport! She’s a woman ffs!

pits like the “Sol Campbell is a **** manager”. Not cos he’s black, just cos he’s ****! They’re not poor commentators because they’re women, they’re just poor commentators!!

100% agree with every word. The sheer arrogance that we’ll easily make the semis if we get past Germany!

So we have Sancho, Grealish, Foden and Mount all on the bench. What a negative kunt Southgate is, he deserves sacking just from this team hes putting out

To be fair Saka was brilliant last game and Sterling is in great form. Mount would have played I reckon if hadnt be distanced. I think he wants pace in the side.

Personally would have stuck 4231 and had a place for Grealish or Foden.

The one thing I didnt want was Germany to play Goretska. He will give us problems arriving in the box. Gundogan and Kroos play in front of you and we would cope with that I think.

I have no issue with Saka.
We're playing 3 CB's with 2 holding midfielders sat infront of them with 2 wing backs, so basically We're just going to sit back and invite them to attack.
We have some of the best attacking players in europe right now. Theres no excuse for leaving Foden and Grealish sat on the bench, man to man we will beat most teams.
Foden slots into midfield sometimes for City, as does Grealish for Villa. We should have had a midfield of...

    ..............Rice.......
    Foden.........Grealish/Mount....
    Saka.....Kane....Sterling.....

The old Spanish team of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta dominated for years and they only had Busquets holding.

Safe selection from Southgate, which doesn’t surprise me.

Too defensive and the game could be gone by the time we decide to go forwards. If we get beat this should be as far as Southgate goes.

He has matched up their formation. I wouldnt have personally but I can see why he has done it. The wing backs on either team are going to be key, whichever pair manages to get highest will probably on the winning side. Personally I would have rather seen Foden play in a 10 and run at Hummels.
