It seems to be they have to choose between an overly high-pitched and excited squeal, or a deep and manly (“I’m wearing jeans, a dirty tee shirt, no bra and Doc Martens…. who’s buying me a pint?”) growl. There’s no in-between
I used to enjoy listening to Des Lynam when he did commentary years ago. When did punditry become a thing? Must be recent! I know one thing, they are nothing but effing annoying with their constant holier than thou budgerigar like demented twittering...
As much as I hated Jimmy Hill's punditry, I almost liked the way there was this smug all knowing old knacker who everyone hated, but they just couldn't get rid of. These days there's so many pundits that if everyone hates one, they get replaced immediately, the days of being stuck with Jimmy Hill forever are long gone.
