What happened to the South Korean centre back we were supposed to be after last year , gone very quite
Don't nob advisers Oooppppsss...wrong thread...thought this was the "what politicians shouldn't do" thread
If you're looking for variations on the DNA acronym, that's over on the mason watch/new manager thread.
- He's adept at both RB and CB in both a back four and back three - He's very Ben Davies-like in his style of play, which he'd need to be given his utility role - He's useful at getting the ball moving, as he can both play out from the back and play it long when needs be - He's got one hell of a workrate - His wages won't be an issue, as he's on £16k p/w at Bologna Also, the £15m pricetag would presumably be offset by Aurier moving on...oh **** PSG signed Hakimi, haven't they? Rodon is likely what happened to KM-J
and Sabitzer, his price has been chopped by around 60% to £15 mill he’s still the player we need in the middle shambles, plus I guess now that we’ve got a DOF who doesn’t know football outside Italy, we might aswell forget Sabitzer.
Much as I think he could be an asset, given he's a big bugger yet has freakish speed for somebody his size and would certainly add depth to our defence that gives us an extra reason to point Dier in the direction of the door, our defence has far too many players who could be good in a season or two (Rodon and Tanganga most obviously) but not enough players who are good now. There's certainly a place for KM-J in the team, but the problem is the team's crying out for a Skriniar/Kounde/Boateng in the heart of defence that Rodon, Tanganga et al will learn from rather than another player to chuck in at the deep end and hope they learn on the job It also has to be said that (according to Naver, at least) the reason we pulled the plug in January was we were looking to offload an overseas player before the Chinese window shut and didn't, which presumably is linked to Gazzaniga's loan in January

There's only one detail about this deal that does stick out like a sore thumb: so we're paying £15m for a player capable of playing as both a CB and RB...having just sold a player capable of playing as a CB & RB for £15m Obviously we'll be in the black if we shift Aurier, but that release clause in Foyth's loan is guaranteed to be brought up if Tomayasu doesn't hit the ground running (or if he does, but the Twitter crowd convince themselves he was only signed to flog shirts in the Far East...)
Just hope he’s given more chances than Foyth if he is signed. From what I hear (I’ve never seen him or heard of him before these links) he sounds a decent prospect and good addition to the squad.
A good indication about this Tomayasu deal too is that Atalanta are also trying to sign him. They’ve been a bit like Leicester in recent seasons, making some extremely smart signings so it could be a good sign for us (if we do get him) that we’re signing a promising player. Paratici must know a fair bit about him too so should this get done, hopefully it’s the start of some good business by our new DoF.
You are not. I have always thought he would be good player, if he was given a decent run. Probably could have done without some senior players blaming him for their own mistakes
I was saying when he was getting a run of games that, if Villarreal were temporarily short on funds, we could do a lot worse than using him as a utility player given he was capable at CB, RB and DM whenever he was needed Basically any excuse to move on Dier or Sissoko so we can refresh in those areas
