hmmm, how can wage bill of went up by 7%??? Carroll,Enrique,Barton, Nolan,Routledge - out Cabaye, ben arfa, marveux, abeid , obertan, Ba- in?
As much as I hate Mike Ashley I do think that his basic idea of buying cheaper young players with potential is a good one and could also turn out to be a very exciting one as well, so long as we do not sell them when they get good.
Only two players from the old wage structure there (Enrique/Barton) - 50k p/w seems a good estimate Carroll would have been on low-ish wages, being a youngster Nolan was signed under the new wage structure so probably only around 30k p/w, same with Routledg then I'd say all six of the new players you listed will probably be on similar wages around what Nolan had, maybe slightly over in the case of internationals like Cabaye and Ben Arfa then you forgot Santon so that's seven new players on around 30-35k p/w.
Aren't we heavily bonus based now aswell? So theoretically if we did really well or individuals did really well that would be a loss from our kitty?
Can someone tell me whether £4.7m operating loss includes the sale of Carrol!? Surely can't of made a loss last season.
Those Sports Direct signs must have cost a fair bit... In all seriousness, I can't pick fault in Ashley's plans for the club, but no-one himself included can say that the methods used have been up to scratch!
This^^ Ashley isnt a bad owner hes a bad communicator. most of his decisions have been good from a logical stand point. i think with our finances getting in order it will be very good for the long term.. hopefully they can be more open with us and communicate with us and explain there decisions and Ashley can work with us the fans to move us forward.
