I remember watching the original and thought it was ****. Have to say this don't look that much better.
@Roy Munson probably thought the original was best movie ever though cos it's over 20 years old. There are entertaining modern horror films, but I wouldn't class any as really behind the sofa scary. Films like Insidious, the first Conjuring one and Get Out fit into that.
All three you mentioned ive seen and found em all meh. That get out was so overhyped imo. Genuinely yet to find a modern "horror" that does anything for me tbh Ghost **** scared me up til i was aboit 10 so they are useless to me now. Slasher movies. Meh i live in London so again they do nothing for me, plus i dont fall for gore and extreme violence for nothing. Id have to say that only the purge movies have cone even close to unnerving me in the last few years. And im not sure you can even call them horrors in the traditional sense. And not cos of the violence. but because theres layers to those films and after ill think "that **** could actually happen" all the messages in those movies are relevant today and quite a few of them do scare me, like corrupt governments & civil unrest & what that can lead to eventually.
tbh when it comes to horror I much prefer old B&W movies, they seem to have more atmosphere. Best horror book I read was called 'the plague', they made a movie but it was utter ****.
Me too. There's so many wtf moments in this I found myself laughing more than anything else. There's not much about it that's even remotely believable.
