Because Rangers went bust and were relegated to the 3rd tier. I'm sure you know that. The sectarian stuff is slowly going, but Larkhall is still ridiculous. The only place in the country that Subway had to have a black shop sign because green is banned in the town. They even complained about the traffic lights and the grass.
Started off really well, then gradually petered out. But Saka and Grealish did more in ten minutes than Foden and Mount did in two games.
Haha yeah Larkhall is a strange place. I thought people were winding me up when they told me about it and then I had to go there for work one day and saw the black subway sign, the green traffic lights under cages and the lack of grass. July 2019 I got stuck in a drum parade in my work van, that was a fun experience
I think in the tournaments we've been successful, the team which ultimately gets the furthest was almost accidentally discovered by the manager. The skill of those managers was to go with what worked, rather than reverting to what they originally thought. In other words, GS didn't expect to field Saka and Grealish tonight, but it worked better than the previous matches. The key will be whether he goes back to what he wanted originally if able to. I suspect he will revert sadly and we will go out next week. Perhaps if he realised that his initials spell Grealish Saka?
3rd division, 4th tier. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012–13_Scottish_Third_Division They were promoted from the 3rd Division (4th tier) into League One (3rd tier), even more confusingly. Got stuck in the Championship for a season, coming 3rd behind Hearts and Hibs, then got back into the top-flight at the next try.
But its not! Top level sport is all about winning, everyone would rather win with a bit of style but that can't always be the case. Do you think they care in Greece that they were possibly the most boring team ever to win a major international tournament of course they don't. Did the Italians after beating the amazing Brazil side of 1982 say we are sorry that we were dull and pragmatic by comparison? Sometimes substance and heart can be beautiful anyone who witnessed Jimmy Connors beat John McEnroe at Wimbledon in1982 knows what I mean. If England win 4 matches, 1-0 they will pick up the trophy if we lose the next match 5-4 in the most entertaining match of the tournament we get nothing. Neither of these is actually likely but i will take the first over the 2nd every day of the week.
The Italian team from 1982 was far from dull; they played exciting counter-attacking football against Argentina, Brazil, Poland and then W. Germany. The game against Brazil has gone down as one of the greatest games in WC history. I watched that Connors v Mac final too and it was gripping, edge of the seat stuff; hardly something that can be attributed to this England team.
How frustrating must it have been for Fernandes sitting on the bench with the ref handing out penalties like confetti
The referee gets an assist for Brazil's equaliser in their 2-1 win over Colombia Don't give Michael Oliver any ideas...
