Good Morning. It's Tuesday 22nd June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Trio expected to sign

After weeks of speculation, talks are now underway between Leeds and Celtic to bring highly rated defender Leo Hjelde to Elland Road. The 17yo Norwegian, dubbed 'the new Virgil Van Dijk' has one year left on his contract at Celtic Park, and U23 Manager Mark Jackson is keen to replace Oliver Casey who is about to sign a three year deal with Blackpool!

Leeds long term pursuit of Latics wonderkid Sean McGurk may be concluded shortly, after hearing that the 17yo will be out of contract at the end of the month. Should the attacking midfielder put pen to paper at Thorp Arch, he will be able to rekindle his on field relationship with Joe Gelhardt!

The first deal expected to be tied up is Birmingham City's Amari Miller. The 18-year-old has attracted a great deal of attention, but talks are at an advanced stage with Leeds who have made an offer of up to 1.5m depending on how he progresses!

Will Leeds reignite their interest in Liverpool defender

A host of Premiership clubs including Leeds have been alerted by the news that Liverpool have reluctantly agreed to part with highly rated defender Neco Williams, but not without slapping a 10m price tag on him.

The Welsh International was born and raised in Wrexham, but joined the Liverpool Academy at the tender age of six; rising through the ranks ever since. Unfortunately for Williams, Trent Alexander-Arnold's form has restricted him to just 12 Premier League appearances over the past two seasons. At 20, Williams is looking for first team football, but would he find it at Elland Road.

Luke Ayling missed just 20 mins of game time all season. His non stop charging up and down the right wing has earnt the 29yo almost cult status as Elland Road. We must also remember we too have a massive talent in our youth set up. Leeds poached Cody Dramah from under Fulham's noses this time last Summer. The 19yo made 22 appearances for Leeds U23's in their promotion winning season, with many positive reviews for the England U20 defender.

Nobody could fault Williams potential, but it looks like Ayling has plenty more miles in the tank, but is his pace an issue?

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Neco Williams if he comes will not be a right back Ayling, Drameh and then Llorente or Koch can easily fill that role. If Williams comes its because Bielsa has him tagged as a LB or even a midfielder, but you have to ask why we would spend at least £10m on a 20yo when we have plenty of 20s kids in the academy……. Unless Bielsa thinks the kid is exceptional. For me this is clickbait again.

Neco Williams is part of Neil Critchley’s Liverpool Academy. Critchley is now Blackpool manager and got them promoted to the Championship. Indeed Critchley knows all the best kids in the country and is in the process of spending £1m on Olly Casey who is also 20yo. We have plenty of talented kids already?

The 3 young kids mentioned will indeed happen plus the Bradford City keeper who will all go straight into the U23s. The young keeper will float between 18s and 23s to replace Cooper Skerry who was recently released, so going to be interesting in the days ahead to see who goes and who stays in the academy

I'm just waiting for Bielsa to be announced then the fun and games can start.
If everything is done and dusted why we waiting?
maybe his contract is up last day of June too and it won't be officially signed till then.
rubbing my hands now because things are going to explode into action very soon. we then can see which pundits and transfer sites will look like complete tw&ats.
Oh and England play today and we have already qualified yet we have only scored 1 goal this grouping really needs looking into as its pretty lame stuff.
The proper Euro tournament starts Saturday when the knockouts begin.

Villa are looking to sign Ward Prowse from Southampton.
I wish we had him. He and Phillips would be awesome, plus Prowse is a free kick specialist.

The Euros are a bit gash thanks to England and Southgate.

    Teams who are flying:
    • Italy 3 wins +7 goals
    • Belgium 3 wins +6 goals
    • Holland 3 wins +6 goals
Teams who have fought and done well:
    • Denmark, Erikson debacle but fought back and unlucky against Belgium then smashed Russia
    • Austria fight for everything and deserved 2 wins
    • Germany now flying again but passion
    • France flying again
Overrated teams due to manager not as good as squad, and teams would be better without the manager.
    • England
    • Portugal
    • Spain

So Casey has finally been made official by the Club Website.
Blackpool confirm it is a three-year deal with an option of a fourth.
Good Luck to the lad. We can't keep them all. go smash it at Blackpool lad.

If he turns out to be as good as everyone believes then let’s hope we have inserted a sell on clause, a buy back clause or both

In fairness Casey was in the U18s when Hugo Diaz and Aapo Halme were in the 23s and Halme is doing ok at Barnsley. Casey has been solid and a great partner for the young Cresswell and bith have been the best defensive partnership in the league. He is however 20 now and not going to break into the first team as he has 4 CBs ahead of him so needs to go and lets see what happens after another season in the 23s for Cresswell, because in fairness he could break through if somebody leaves or gets injured

Great to see Jack Harrison bang at it again with his coach in California. He will be fit as fk when he comes back

Mate. Wasn’t criticising in anyway, opposite actually. Fully agree why he’s gone with what’s in front of him so as you’ve seen him live and rate him so highly, im just hoping we’ve got something in place if he does develop into a world beater

No guarantees on making it as we know. Hugo Diaz a great captain, great CB and also played in midfield he captained us to the league title and we let him go back to Spain. Not hardly played this season. Halme was supposed to be a full Finland International by now but not got further than U21s. Plays for Barnsley but not every week? So bith have gone backwards and Bielsa has been proved right? Hope Casey makes it but its up to him.
