Hoilett and Samba

  1. Would you take both these players from Blackburn?

Hoilett looks like a dangerous little player, very fast and nippy, good dribbler and can score around 5-7 goals a season, and one that could be a good squad player for us and provide competition for HBA, Marv, Jonas and Ober.

Samba a powerful and very tactical defender. He lacks a little bit of sharpness at times. But i like the thought of Taylor, Colo and Samba fighting for a place, with Willo as back up, and perhaps Kadar showing potential.

I'd take Hoilett for 5/6 mil and Samba for 8/9m next summer. If we sign these two along with a good striker I'd be over the moon.

Samba obviously wants to leave, and if we finish in a good position this season i could see us being an attractive option to him, and I'm sure that he wouldn't want to be part of the current debacle that is Arsenal. And besides he'd most likely be cover for Vermalen.

If we were to get into Europe, we would need more squad depth and 3 signings like this would help us.

Big yes to Hoilett, but Samba wouldn't oust Colo or Taylor - we won't pay that much for a 3rd choice CB.

I made a post about Hoillett this time last week - looks like a better version of Obertan

    Hoilett definitley YES.

Samba I'd also want, but there's no point us signing someone for that amount to be a back-up. Back-up CB needs to be Ridgewell, as he can cover LB as well.

While we're on the subject of their players, I wouldn't mind Grant Hanley - young lad (18-20 I think) who can cover anywhere across the back 4. Excellent squad player.

Yeah, Taylor has been prone to injuries the last couple of seasons but hopefully they are behind him now. He's probably good for a red card each season if he plays most games tho!

We'll probably have a low net spend again next year, and £9m would be a massive wedge to someone that may not play week in week out. More likely to buy a young CB, early 20's who has the potential to learn, develop and grow into the team. Not sure who though. Hopefully Carr can turn up another gem.

    For those prices? No...

Hoilett is a good player and I think he'd get a good few goals a season, but when you consider that we bought a French International, a potential future Italy Captain, Chiek Tiote (no need to say any more) and Ben Arfa for less than £5m - we're hardly going to pay that for someone who you think will get 5-6 goals a season!

    Samba for 8-9? No chance!

  8. What about for 5-6m?

Both would be great additions but Samba ain't playing 2nd fiddle at his age. Prefer the two we have and we go back to the likes of Situ or other promising youngsters who have quality but will wait for a chance. Hoilett would be awesome but I think he might move to one of the clubs likely to finish top 6. Bit special for me.

They'd both be fantastic additions to the squad.

Whether we'd meet Blackburns valuation or these two would come here is another thing, they'l be getting some good offers in the next two windows.

As everyone has said - good players...But I'm not sure they fit our spending plan. I'd prefer to go for youngsters in the case of Samba to be honest...Hoilet would be an interesting one though definitely!

Would both be fantastic buys but as has been stated above Samba wouldn't come here to play second fiddle. Colo and Saylor are in the form of their lives I wouldn't drop them for anyone atm.

As for Hoilett he would be an amazing but too i've been very very impressed by him but he will probably end up at a team like the Spuds, Liverpool that sort of level.

Chris Samba is a much better CD than Steven Taylor - he would be out of the side straight away if Samba was signed.

Hoilett looks an exciting player and I agree Obertan would easily be ousted from the side. He simply has no end product.
