Rafa has had 5 meetings with Evertons board now, they're said to want the weekend to go over things. A decision should be made early next week.

However, Rafas closest friends are said to be advising him not to accept and to wait for Newcastles takeover instead.

Both Usmanov and Moshiri have made Rafa their number 1 choice. So will be very interesting to see what happens next week.

Moshiri wasn't phased by it apparently, it's rumoured to be Brands who is concerned by it.

 

Brands should be the man controlling it’s he’s the DoF. His choice is apparently Potter, but it’s obvs Moshiri who’s making the choice.

 

Funnily enough it was apparently Kenwright who put Rafas name forward. Moshiri was then impressed by his first interview and got behind him, Usmanov is high on him too. From what I gather, Brands is fine with Rafa, he's just concerned by the Backlash. But Rafa has told them that he believes he will win the supporters over.

 

Personally I don’t see it, the backlash was worse than I expected & I think it’s spooked the board, as he’d be on a hiding to nothing from Day 1.

 

We know he is thick skinned. It depends how he intends to win the fans over. If he carries on his charity work, I think he will build up some goodwill. Get in to the Europa League and I think the fans will mellow down.
