Southgate is too loyal and too predictable, we have no discernable captain/leader and the players seem to believe their 'quality' means they don't have to try too hard to win ... ... I wonder if we'll ever score again from outside the box, doubt it.
I put radio 5 on late last night for 606 and couldn't believe it when Declan Rice was being interviewed, because I genuinely didn't know that he was even on the pitch! Never heard his name mentioned once in the commentary.
It seemed like they got their half time talk from SAGE. They were far too cautious. I thought the jocks were far the better side on the night and deserved to win. They came out all guns blazing and kept it up all night. I’m another one wondering why Kane is playing, England’s Will Grigg. Our Jordan had a good game though.
for me it was all this keep passing it back from what i saw the jocks took it forward and kept the pressure on, England tappy tappy like Spain a few years ago just keep the effing pressure on and they will make mistakes
Probably the most talented group of young lads we’ve had in 20 years, and that dour prick has strangled them. If this team had the shackles unleashed they are capable of destroying teams.
I don't think he wanted to win but play out a bore draw and the same on Tuesday, keeping powder dry and finishing second means we play Sweden, Slovakia or Spain rather than Portugal, France or Germany. I didn't like what I saw last night but does the end justify the means?
You've got to play the big boys sooner or later or does he think his CV will look better with a semi final loser rather than the quarters, he's deluded if he's trying to pick an easy way to the later stages, get out there and win games, it builds confidence and on last night's showing boy do we need some.
If he wanted to finish second surely it would of been better to try and beat Scotland then they would know exactly how many they need to lose by v Czech Republic
Will the Czechs try to lose? I think our next game against them will be like a training exercise for both teams.
i knew he was on the pitch, just wondered when he was going to get involved and 2nd half i was honestly looking to see who had come on for mount as i never heard his name then spotted him still on the pitch...along with kane (no service and dropping deep again) and raheem 'see how many times i can lose the ball while trying to be a clever c unt and save the day' sterling, no real link in the middle although foden did try and i can only hope he was taken off as a precaution, we resorted to tapply lappy sh1te across the back four, 5 or 6 passes to move it a little way up the pitch then one 30 yard back pass and repeat...i did notice some lads making forward runs but for some reason either they were told not to play those passes or we had no one capable of playing them.
Drop kane. He needs to know he's not droppable. Play the Everton forward. Drop Sterling, play Grealish.
Tuesday will be interesting. Scotland gave absolutely everything and a bit more, will they be knackered v Croatia.
I agree, two teams with different styles who'll stick to what they're best at ... ... I'm going for 2-1 to Germany.
