Good Morning. It's Friday 18th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Plenty of transfer activity for U23's

Leeds face an uphill battle in their pursuit of Birmingham City's Amari Miller. The 18yo broke through the senior ranks at St Andrews, notching up five cameo appearances for Lee Bowyers side. The Whites were quick off the blocks to make contact with the pacy dribbler, and offer terms to him.

Unfortunately, Leeds are not the only club to have been monitoring Miller. Spurs and Southampton have also staked their interest, though it seems talks with Leeds are at a more advanced stage. Birmingham City have let it be known they will not stand in Miller's way if he wants to leave.

Leeds are being linked with Celtic's Leo Hjelde. The Norwegian centre back is only 17yo. He stands 6ft 2', and can play left back, left wing or centre back. He has been dubbed ‘the new Virgil van Dijk'.

The Whites first enquired about Hjelde whilst he was on loan at Ross County last season. Leeds see him as a possible replacement for Oliver Casey who looks like he is on his way to Blackpool!

Closer to home, Osaze Urhoghide has rejected a new contract with the Owls, and can leave on a free transfer. The highly rated 20yo has a host of interest from both, the Championship and the top flight. Urhoghide was born in Holland, but was bought up in London. He too, is 6ft 2' tall and can play centre back or right back.

    It's Phillips v Cooper tonight!

Club Captain Liam Cooper will square off against friend and team mate Kalvin Phillips this evening when Scotland are the visitors to Wembley Stadium. The Scots got off to the worst of starts, getting beat 2-0 against the Czech Republic, though to be fair the game was a lot closer than the scoreline reflected. Cooper's display was solid. He was credited with winning 9 duels, 6 aerial duels, 6 ball recoveries and had an 80% passing success rate.

Kalvin Phillips got off to a fantastic start against Croatia, winning the accolade of man of the match, plus plaudits from around Europe. Should the 'Yorkshire Pirlo' continue in this rich vein of form, he has a real chance of being named 'player of the tournament'

Can anyone remember the last time two Leeds players faced each other in an International tournament?

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Yes we are going after around 3 players for the U23s and already got 3 for the U18s so far with more to come. Going to be interesting to see who we convince to come. Last Summer we got 3 of the best kids in England and 1 from Holland and all 4 are close to first team, but can they break through. With more first team players due to come in it will be increasingly tough for U23s to get a chance. Another season in the 23s for these 4 will be good for their education and hope to see all 4 make it through by next Summer as they will have been exposed to the first team for a good long while.

According to Fabrizio Romano Leeds are going after Noa Lang in a big way. He said on his latest podcast that there are many stories about Leeds but the only safe story so far is that they have spoken to The player, his agent and Club Brugge. Brugge will make a massive profit as they have only just paid Ajax the contracted fee from his loan to buy deal. Its now up to the club and player but Leeds wont hang around

The Noa Lang is a weird one.

He's an Ajax player on loan to Brugge.

Brugge will buy him for 6m.

Leeds will have to pay circa 20m

Ajax sent him on loan to Brugge and he had trigger clause in his contract which Brugge have actioned, so he is now a Brugge player. So if Leeds want him they will have to negotiate a price. Yes expected to pay double what Brugge paid so good business for them. If Romano says talks are taking place you can bet on it. However Orta will walk away if they are looking for £20m. Lets see what happens because we should get to know maybe by this weened if we have walked away :emoticon-0148-yes:

    Good morning,

Noa Lang looks a great prospect and is the transfer talk i'm paying most attention to but he comes under a lot of criticism for his attitude (and allegedly being anti-semitic). Bielsa must be confident that it won't be an issue for us otherwise I doubt we'd look at him.

    Morning pal

I just don't get why we are looking for another winger.

I'd want a really good left back as my first priority

The stuff I have read about him puts him the flawed genius class. He had a massive fall out at Ajax and he had plenty of run-ins with Ajax boss Ten-Haag. Lang knew he was a better footballer than most at the club and liked to take the pee on the training pitch. Theres a youtube clip of Ten-Haag ripping into Lang on the pitch in a match, telling him he will play football the managers way not the players way but Lang carried on and was subbed, then sent out on loan and was the best player in Brugge and the players accepted it and raved about him. Fans loved to watch him and he grew up a lot at Brugge. A more mature player who knows he is good but now listens a lot more. Think sometimes arrogance on the pitch winds up opposition players and fans but you really need to be good to carry it off or you just look stupid. Seems he may be good enough to carry it off but if Bielsa wants him he must know he can be managed?

I just want Rodrigo de Paul lol.
I dreamt we crashed Atletico madrid's party at the last hour.
Orta organised a deal of £20m plus Helder Costa which they they refused but then offered Kiko aswell and the deal was done..
RDP then had a phone call with Bielsa and within 10 minutes he decided Leeds was his destination.
Oh i still have hope lol.

    Afternoon all

Noa Lang has a terrible attitude according to all reports, I’m amazed Bielsa has okayed the signing, still can’t see it myself

Seems lots still going on at Spurs and Everton regarding managers. Spurs managed to fall out with Gattuso within hours so thats not happening which leaves Daniel Levy now looking silly if he has to go back to someone rejected. Everton board is at war as Usmanov wants Benitez for his know how and experience and his 13 major trophies/titles won. More traditional board members shouting about him being a red….. wonder why Nuno Espirito Santo isnt in place?

I'm sure there'll be banter flying around tonight, so before things get potentially nasty, can I just say what a great gesture it was from WJ to give his Denmark shirt up in support of Christian Eriksen
