Torquay are one step away from rejoining the Football League.....after beating Notts County 4-2... AET... yesterday.

They will play the winner of todays other semi-final between...Stockport County...v...Hartlepool....next weekend for a place in the FL...the Final will be played at Bristol City's ground.

My local team Bromley lost 3-2 at Hartlepool last weekend to be elliminated from the play-offs.....better luck another year....we might have League Football one day just two miles from where I live.

 

Adan Randell played the full 120 minutes: good experience for him.

So the final next weekend is.....Torquay v Hartlepool at Bristol C.

 

I hear that Ryan Lowe was at Wembley yesterday......scouting I assume.

 

Signs for Walsall.

 

Lowe's third new signing is...Macaulay Gillesphey from Brisbane Roar....5ft 11in defender...started off his career with Newcastle....play on loan then signed by Carlisle....and then two years in Australia.....Lowe obviously likes him.....soon we'll find out why.

 

Ben Reeves has signed for Gillingham.

 

Will Aimson has signed for Bolton.

 

So we're being told that we have another defender coming along and spending a couple of weeks as a trialist so that Lowe can cast his eye over him.

 

Glad Aimson has found a club, with help perhaps from Antoni Sarcevic. Of all our defenders last year, he carries least blame, if that's a recommendation. He finished the year strongly, throwing himself into blocks and tackles like a good'un.

 

I see that keeper Jack Ruddy has found himself a new club.....Northern Ireland's champions Linfield....best of luck to him.

 

Since Lyndhurst is sunning himself in Suffolk, I thought now would be the time to stimulate a rash of wild and unfounded rumours.

I'm definitely rooting for Josh Morris, released by Fleetwood Town. Who can forget his goal at Home Park so good it was reported as far away as Australia.

Since we seem to have visitors who are not of the Green faith, I should explain that our keeper was NOT feigning injury to waste time but had to be subbed off.

 

Frank Nouble has now signed a full time contract for Colchester.....they have also signed Alan Judge from Ipswich.

 

Speculation on pasoti that the trialist may be Brendan Galloway a defender from Luton.....not much playing time during his two years there....question marks about his fitness....talk of a knee injury......I hope this isn't correct.,....we don't need crocked players....I was hoping we were aiming higher than this.

ps......Having search....I have found that he had a serious knee injury in Nov 2019....a ruptured Patella (knee cap ?) and has been released 2021 having not fully recovered.....we don't need to be palmed off with this type of trialist.

Lets hope that pasoti have got it wrong and it is someone else.....although crocked players do try to find a new club through being trialists.

 

Further to the Galloway rumours.... (injured player coming as a trialist etc) .....assuming that he is the trialist in question.... we need to remind ourselves ...that James Wilson who looks a promising acquirement has also been out last season for over four months with a knee injury.....Dan Scarr also has had injuries....but what battling central defender doesn't show the scars of battle (see what I did there with Dan.....sorry) over the seasons.....do we have to gambol with injured players.....sometimes it works out....sometimes as we all know it doesn't.

 

There will be a full medical before a player is signed and that will be done I assume after review of previous medical reports. There was a case recently in which a selling club was found liable for properly disclosing their player's history.
