    Wish him well

    loved Rafa

Have always wanted it to be about us and Everton

if the CL final is for Everton to win number 7 against Utd to win number 4 I still want Everton to win (no idea wtf has happened to cause that eventuality but sentiment the same)

Fair enough. And yes, the fans won't like it. It's Chelsea all over again for Rafa

just for the record on Rafa and his "failures" and being yesterday's man

    Rafa Benítez honours.

EFL Championship, with Newcastle United FC in May 2017. - last "trophy" and only one possible for a **** newcastle club who wouldn't back him financially.

Italian Super Cup, with SCC Napoli in December 2014.
Italian Cup, with SSC Napoli in May 2014. (their last trophy was also cup in 2019/20 and have not won league since maradona, pretty good)

UEFA Europa League, with Chelsea FC on May 15, 2013. (maximum possible due to selfish players in cheslea squad that year)

FIFA Club World Club Cup, in December 2010 with Inter Milan. (not great after they won treble year before, mourinho saw writing on wall and jumped ship)
Italian Super Cup, August 2010 with Inter Milan.

Community Shield, with Liverpool FC in August 2006. (not a bad couple of years)
FA CUP, with Liverpool FC on May 13, 2006.
European Super Cup with Liverpool FC in August 2005.
UEFA Champions League, with Liverpool FC on May 25, 2005.

UEFA Cup with Valencia CF SAD on May 19, 2004. (amazing record in spain)
Premier League (La liga), with Valencia CF SAD in May 2004.
Premier League (La liga), with Valencia CF SAD in May 2002.

If everton have any ambition rafa will just need to get the power to have final say on transfers and he will at least try and win something, with city and cheslea in the league its not easy but he wil lat least try.

It's 50/50 from both sides, those that want him to go there and those that don't.

Of all the fans in the league, Evertonians have a deep desire for someone who 'gets them'. To my mind that's not Rafa. He's not about bitterness, resentment or dogs of war. He 'got' us; he 'got' Newcastle. He attached himself to the clubs and them to him. Everton is a very different beast. I don't mind where he goes to manage, we got his best years and all sentimentality aside, I wouldn't want him back with us, he's not our future. I don't know whose future he is. If he goes there, it's a strange appointment all round.

Been a long time since he won anything of note though.

7yrs since an Italian cup win
    8yrs since EL with Chelsea

Last 'big trophy' was the CL with us 16yrs ago!

they were celebrating in the streets with anchelotti even though he was a klopp lover.

If they want someone who gets them then appoint wayne rooney. Big Dunc is a rangers lad with an everton tattoo, they are not appointing him so who is more everton?

Everton fans need to think about who they are i suppose. People took great delight in telling us we were a mid table club and should "get used to it" and that sort of stuff. So I don't know what an everton fans defines as "them", they should figure that one out.

what I know is he is a tactical manager, he is not an up and at em type like klopp. they didn't particularly take to anchelotti but it'd be fairly stupid to decide now that you'd rather piss all over the guy than support your team. when you are 7 years into poor league returns (11,11,7,8,8,12,10) with double figures in losses.

I would have thought being at least above to reduce the number of losses would improve them.

5 years giving newcastle everything and took the cash in china. some might say winning the championship is as impressive a slog as winning the Italian cup.

BTW even winning that 1 cup in 5 years for napoli is the best that club can hope for. so he delivered.

the chav were disgraceful that year. The senior players downed tools and made damned sure that nobody they didn't like was getting the job. they actually threw the FA cup and only went for the europa cos it was their only route to CL next season. That was the last hurrah of the kabal of players at chelsea that was broken up after by age and sales.

We can't all be oil club managers I suppose. whats mourinhos last big trophy then? 6 years? cheslea? that ignores his two trophies at utd.

I'd love to see guardiola manage newcastle or spurs and see what happens.

    Another Manager down for Spurs

    Fonseca talks ended

They're moving on to Gattuso, who will also probably turn them down.
All these failed talks points towards Spurs not being willing to give a new manager the money to spend. A work with the existing squad situation.

If anyone wants to retire after getting 12mil a year it's a good job.

This all points to levy being seen as an idiot and not to be trusted. Mourinho was in a cup final 6 days after the date he was sacked. Levy used the esl disaster to get mourinho out without a replacement so he could lessen the severance payment as mourinho would be owed.more after a cup win.

No plan at all after Mourinho seems to be the story.

Levy should be sacked by spurs.

The stadium is a mill stone round their necks and the prime assets will need to be sold to pay it down for a few years.

Alli is worth 30% of what he was.
    Kane wants out.
    Son will be close behind.

Their fans can't lose really. He might improve them, and if he doesn't they have a ready-made scapegoat. :)

Everton have panicked and are now claiming Rafa is only one of 8 candidates.

The backlash will mean they end up appointing sam allardyce or something lol.

Think its alittle of both for Spurs. Managers are interested but there are issues over how much the club will give them to spend (the stadium which has combined with Covid has pretty much broke them), so the potential candidates are clashing with the vision of the club.

For Everton, who the **** knows. Could be that the owner has an idea they're a big club and want a manager to match (ie Ancelotti) but those types of managers have there pick of jobs this summer with all the leavings and sackings. So they look like they're fumbling around to try and find someone.

The Club to really wonder about is Palace.

No manager, Zaha wanting out and 12 players out of contract next month.

What kind of team are the going to be able to put out, half their 1st team squad looks to be heading out the door. They'll have to promote alot of the reserves and u18s.

Got to be favourites to be releagted.
