In the back of my mind that was behind putting Richards in CM, if necessary he could be moved to LM and Mac put on.
I'm torn as to what the outcome of this game will be. My heart says it'll be a win, my head says otherwise! They supposedly push the opposition all of the time and chose direct football, town have not done well with that type of game in the past. If our team turns up in the right frame of mind (especially the defence and CM) then we are on a winner. I think there'll be some goals scored though!! (one way or another) Town 3 v Crawley 2 Morgan, Gornell, Wright Att: 3200
Well done to Brizzle on their win, helped us out too. Cheltenham are now causing some ripples at the top so todays game is crucial for town to put in a good performance. Coybs!!!
have we learnt anything from last week, and our precious gd is evaporating. gills doing well at gulls. roll on the lotto
We need to stop having our great runs undone by not turning up. 3 defeats now, and it sounded today ljke we were poor again- pick it up GT. COYS
Atcham, I do not think the problem is up front - the problem is in giving away poor goals - we got away with it against Barnet but will not be able to get away with it against the better teams in our league. We badly need a holding midfielder who is defensively solid and a central defender to put some pressure on Sharps and Cansdell-Sheriff who have both been unconvincing at times this season. We seem to be running a squad at least two men short at the moment.
A game of two halves today we were poor first half but better the second. Subs were made too late in my opinion as we started playing after they were made. One thing I must say is Crawley has got to be one of the most friendly and welcoming clubs we have been to in a long time. We were approched as we got off the bus by the clubs' chief executive who shook our hands and told us we were very welcome to use the social club to have a drink and meet their fans , who were also just as friendly. A big well done to The staff and fans of Crawley! Apart from the result, a very enjoyable away day.
Nice to hear some great feedback from someone who went Shrewsie. I thought that perhaps a change at half time might of improved things. Even if it was only tactics!! We played better when we switched to route one footy by the sound of things.
I haven't seen it but the commentators said it wasn't his fault. The defensive wall, free kick goal was his to deal with though.
agree matster with your comments about extra defence to staunch goals , but town do have to score to draw or preferably win, i suspect problems yesterday were at either end, unless crawley have a super defence. on their day our squad should be able to score against most clubs. eg derby, swansea, arsenal or crawley
Their defender constantly blocked Morgan's path which should have been penalised. But our defence let through their attackers!! So Crawley players did a good job.
unless we sign a couple of decent defenders we will always drop points....more jokey stuff and school boy mistakes will not get us up this season, we must tighten up at the back!!
Yes I think Neal should have moved for the first goal he just stood down the middle but Sharpes was caught out for that one and Shane gave the free kick away for the second. One problem with Chris Neal is he doesn't communicate with the defence enough, Ben Smith does a lot more shouting but also our two central defenders are both struggling for form after injuries.
