Poor decision to let him go. Out of the 3 strikers, although he didn't score many (injuries and wasn't given a chance) when he was on the pitch, he ran his socks off and made if very difficult for the opposition. Best striker in my opinion out of the 3 we had.

Bad decision to let him go.
Worst decision to let him go for FREE
Even worst decision to let him go to a league rival.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being in the top 3 highest L2 goal scorers this coming season and then Stevenage will benefit from selling him on for a high fee.

Bad decision to let him go. But like I said on twitter, why change a habit of a life time!

Barrett is still under contract so we are relying on a club wanting him. Who wants him? I would be surprised if a football league club are stupid enough to take him. We are stuck with him.

On Stevenage's website, Daly said this... "I was frustrated at times not to get the game time". Yes James. We were frustrated you didn't get it either. He could have made the difference if given the chance.

I remember Bobby Zamora jogging up and down the touchline and hardly getting a game.

So Daly and Davies (both not given a chance by Barton and both arguably better in their respective positions than what we currently have) will come back to haunt us this coming season.

We offered him a chance to come back to us, obviously Barton thinking Ogogo can offer us something in L2. Yet he was treated badly last season so no wonder he is going elsewhere. He would rather drop out of the football league than re-join us. Says a lot about our club right now.

Tommy Widdrington has been removed from the board of directors. He will serve as a director in charge of outgoing loan deals and ensuring the strategic vision of the first team is adhered to at U23s level and within the clubs academy

Max Ehmer has had his contract terminated and has left the club. According to Bristol Live Max was Rovers highest earner, I trust that last word was used loosely
He apparently has resigned for Gillingham

Look at the difference between Ehmer's goodbye comment and Rovers goodbye comment.

Interesting swipe at our club. It's not gone down too well on twitter.

    From Bristol Live...

Stoke City defender emerges as a loan transfer option for Bristol Rovers and Joey Barton.

Joey Barton is keen to build on the four signings secured last month as the start of pre-season looms on the horizon and promising Stoke City defender Connor Taylor, has emerged as a defensive option for Bristol Rovers this summer with the 19-year-old available on a season-long loan.

Bristol Live understands that Taylor, who has been playing for the club's Under-23 side, is one of the defensive targets being considered by the Gas but there is strong competition from within League One.

Joey Barton is continuing his rebuild of the Gas and is keen to add several more players to his squad, ideally before the end of the month.

Barton wants another CB to join the experienced Hughes in that department, with Alfie Kilgour, Jack Baldwin, Cian Harries and, to a lesser extent, George Williams on the books in that position, while young Pablo Martinez could also migrate from midfield over time. The futures of Harries and Williams are looking uncertain due to Barton’s wish for a certain type of character and/or style of centre-back, which could lead him to former England Schoolboys’ international Taylor.

Rovers are an agreeable option for Stoke to send the defensive talent due to the connection established following Harry Souttar’s loan to Fleetwood for 18 months across the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons.

Under the tutelage of Barton and particularly assistant Clint Hill, Souttar enjoyed an outstanding campaign in the north west, an experience that has helped shape him into a top-level Championship centre-back now being considered for a Premier League move.

The feeling within the bet365 Stadium is that Taylor, who is a tall, ball-playing centre-back who likes to bring the ball into midfield, could follow a similar path as his first-team opportunities in the Potteries for 2021/22 are limited at present.

Taylor, who signed from Stafford Rangers in 2019 and was rewarded with a new contract in February, made one Championship appearance for Stoke last season, against Coventry on April 21 as he replaced James Chester in the 17th minute in a 3-2 defeat.

Meanwhile, Gloucestershire Live have reported that Rovers are now “clear favourites” to sign Barnsley winger Luke Thomas on loan for the season.

The 22-year-old former Cheltenham Town forward, whose family are from the Forest of Dean, has struggled to earn a first-team place at Barnsley since Valerian Ismael joined the club.

Interesting comment from Ehmer reminds me of the comments made by Stefan Payne in the neck when he left to join Tranmere

Haven't read the comments on twitter but he never played much football for us when he was selected maybe my dreams will come true and he will be followed by Williams and Harries and if I am really lucky Baldwin as well
