Swimming Cap Head is saying our best players should go elsewhere, and make the "step up" to Villa, blah, blah. Or that if he was one of our targets (Armstrong II) he would chose West Ham over us, because of Moyes and the Europa League, to "test himself". I remember this as well... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ton-Palmer-deserved-caps-Matt-Le-Tissier.html
Palmer quoted as saying: "I'm one of the least substituted players of my position in the history of the Premier League" #scrapingbarrels
As important as it is to bring players in, just as important is moving on players who aren’t in Ralph’s plans to raise transfer funds and free up wages as we are going to have to pay significant wages to incoming players as we will be seen as relegation fodder this season.
I don't really understand all this "relegation fodder" talk. Our squad isn't that bad! Last season is done - next season is a fresh start. And Ralph isn't going to spend the summer twiddling his thumbs - he will be working hard on how we can improve.
Currently we are 7th favourites with the bookies to go down, so if that does happen we will finish 14th, an improvement on last season
Che ADAMS + Stuart ARMSTRONG = ADAM ARMSTRONG This is going to be fun for commentators. "Adams... to Armstrong... to Adam Armstrong... back to Armstrong... to Adams... to Adam Armstrong once more..."
Just takes a couple of long-term injuries to key players. Norwich look a good shout for survival, and we only finished above Brighton and Burnley this season (apart from the relegated teams), who are easily capable of finishing above us.
That applies to all the bottom half teams really. And I think we're due some luck on the injury front!
Just having some decent cover in all positions would be an improvement, without having to rely on luck!
I was more referring to who gets injured. All teams pick up injuries but I think virtually all our best players were injured at one point or another. I can only think of JWP, Bednarek, Armstrong and Che from our key players who didn't miss any significant time.
Yeah, I'd be saying exactly the same thing if I was a fan of any of those teams. If we get lucky with injuries, then I'd expect a 12-14th finish.
It will be fine... McAdams... to McDonald... to Adam Armstrong... back to McDonald... to McAdams... to Adam Armstrong... who fires it into the back of the net.
