Prediction League Euros Week 1

Hi all, some of you will be familiar with the Prediction Competition that I run during the normal season but with the Euros starting this week I have decided to run a special Euros Prediction Competition that will run from the first set of games this weekend right through to the final.

For those that have taken part before the format and rules will be familiar but it would be great to see some new faces also

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS BEFORE KICK-OFF OF THE FIRST GAME WHICH IS 14:00 ON SATURDAY 12 JUNE

Bonus points - pick ONE game from the 6 listed score prediction fixtures in Game 1 and the total goals scored in that match will be added to your weekly total


SCORING & RULES
--------------------------
Game 1 - 3 points for each exact score prediction or 1 point for a correct result prediction (ie. home win, away win or draw). Play your joker against one of the fixtures to double your points for that fixture

Game 2 - 2 points for a correct 'home' goalscorer and 3 points for a correct 'away' goalscorer

Game 3 - goals scored in selected fixture will be added to your points total


BONUS POINTS
Game 1 - 3 bonus points for correctly predicting all 6 results (ie. home win, away win or draw). 2 bonus points for correctly predicting 2 or more exact scores

Game 2 - 1 bonus point for correctly predicting both goalscorers

Our winner this week with 19 points is @SaintStu

There were correct score bonus points for LTL, Chilco, SaintStu and Saints_Alive. LTL had the 1-1 draw between Wales and Switzerland and Austria's 3-1 win against North Macedonia. Chilco had Belgium's 3-0 win against Russia and England's 1-0 win against Croatia. SaintStu had the Wales draw and England's win and Saints_Alive had the Wales draw and Belgium's win. SaintStu and tom were also unlucky not to get the results bonus as they both had 5 out of 6 correct results with them both only getting the Denmark-Finland result wrong.

For the goalscorers only Lukaku of those players selected scored so no bonus points.

The best bonus game was Netherlands-Ukraine with 5 goals and King Grimlock, jacksk1, SaintStu and Ides all selected that.

 

How did I manage to get 9 points? I exceeded my expectations as I am ambivalent about international per se, although it would be wonderful.to see Italy in the final against oñe of the less fancied teams like England.
