So, assuming you're English, can you answer this question ...

... what exactly are 'the English'?

Hmmm, there are some very confused people spouting nonsense because of their ignorance.

Southgate says, despite talking about taking the knee, yet again, and insisting they're even more determined to carry on,

"Whatever happens before is for individual people to decide but we know what we are doing and our focus is totally on the football."

FA chief executive Mark Bullingham has called the booing of England's players for taking a knee "incredibly disappointing".

Are people booing England players having spent substantial amounts of money and travelled to support their country as they do all over the world ...

... couldn't it be that they're simply protesting about politics being dragged into their sport?

Those, supposed to set an example, seem adept at failing to consider people's feelings.

You can't answer the question so post a smart arse answer, just as I expected.

You pretend you want to debate but soon resort to stupidity when you realise you've lost the argument.

Exactly right mate. Just by reading on here so many people have different views on the whole matter and where they stand.
The fact is that we can openly discuss how we feel, but when this first started I'm sure that lots of players had different views like us yet they were more or less forced to take the knee whether they agreed or not.
Can you imagine what sort of abuse a player would have recieved in the first few games of taking the knee if he refused, just because he didn't agree with the nature of it.
Yet this taking the knee is now supposed to represent no discrimination in sport.
I see a little bit of hypocrisy in that.

"Yet this taking the knee is now supposed to represent no discrimination in sport."

    That's the problem, isn't it.

At first it was absolutely in support of Black Lives Matter, but now they're saying that it's not.

If it's actually about non discrimination in sport, surely that's for sport to address. If the protest is about those in sport who do discriminate, it's up to sport to resolve. If the players know that there's discrimination they should have the courage to name names.

The hypocrisy, for me, is that sport is protesting but it's being instigated by those in authority. So if it's the whole of sport that's protesting who is aimed at? It can only be the spectators who are being told not to discriminate. If those attending don't discriminate I can easily see why they'd be narked at being patronised.

Ordinary people have a more difficult time of things than football players, and seeing a 'holier than thou' attitude from them might well stick in some peoples' craw.

Absolutely agree with this. John Barnes said similar the other day. It’s not about him or Marcus Rashford or Rajeev Sterling getting abused racially or otherwise, thousands of “ordinary” people get the same abuse day to day or worse. It won’t see the light of day because they’re not famous.

I’m not condoning it at all, but pay me £2m a year and you can call me whatever you want!! But I am thick skinned and was verbally bullied most of my life until my current job. Water off a Duck’s back for me

The point I was making was that the kneeling, in this case, isn't a sign of subservience.

    Thanks I didn't know I'd lost,

We all have the hominid Neanderthal genetically coded in our DNA and that applies across the whole of Europe and Asia (less so across Africa). As for suggesting that The Scottish are a 'race' I honestly see no point in arguing. There is no such thing.

So does that mean that in reality there is only 1 race, possibly 2 if we all have the same genetic coding?

Imo, most ordinary normal football fans are thinking about the forthcoming match, and when faced by something that has been done to death, the reaction is " get on with it"
This manifests, with some people as boos.
No racism or whatever other bollocks has been spouted but just STOP FANNYING ABOUT.

Ah right, so now you're back to wanting a debate after the idiotic comments.

Forget it, you're just a troll spouting all the tired old Internet comebacks ...

...there are people on here worth talking to.

Though its true we all basically have the same genetic coding that doesn't mean there aren't different 'races' even though the notion racial purity is hard to identify anywhere in the world
