Romano saying Fonseca will be done soon. Final details of contract to be completed and then he’ll be announced this week.
Slow as **** this process bored of it maybe next week THFC might purchase a ****ing pen to sign this contract, can’t wait.
So outside of the Tifo Tactics video I watched the other day, been reading up a bit more about Fonseca. Sounds like he plays (or tries to play) an entertaining brand of football, Guardiola even praised it after Fonseca's Shakhtar beat City in Europe a few years back. He also likes to work on improving/ promoting young players, so hopefully that bodes well for players like Sess, Skipp, Rodon Tanganga etc, even ones like Reguilon and Bergwijn too Likes his FBs/WBs to be heavily involved in forward play. Also puts emphasis on having a real togetherness/ family style of environment. Apparently a main issue though based on his Roma days is that it looks like he doesn't do too well in big games or when the pressure's really on. Is it me or does this sound very similar to a Monsieur Pochettino? All in all if he turns out anywhere near like Poch I think a lot of fans will enjoy his tenure for the most part, providing he and Paratici work well together in re-shaping the squad. I mentioned it on the transfer thread but apparently Paratici has already told "a number" of players and their agents to look for moves elsewhere and Levy may have more or less confirmed that in his interview as he mentioned about players they'll be looking to let go, so hopefully the pair will be able to begin a much needed clear out and rebuild. They may need a solid few windows but I'm feeling quite optimistic about the new manager and DoF... So I look forward to being disappointed again
It seems the big game issue is somewhat of a Roma-specific thing, as he won cup finals in Portugal and big CL games at Shakhtar. Hopefully it’s something that improves. Though as others have pointed out, if we’d done a better job killing off games against teams who finished below us on 2/3 occasions last season then we’d have been top 4.
Yeah I think he's had mixed fortunes at various clubs. Done well for Braga and won a cup, also done okay with Pacos but flopped with Porto it seems. His Shakhtar side done the league and cup double in all of his seasons and as mentioned even beat City. I think he'll surprise a few so long as he and Paratici work well and the right signings. I'm getting more optimistic by the day, not sure that's a good thing though, lol.
Once he’s made official, It’s only a matter of time before there’s a thread on here where we’ll predicting the date of Levy sacking him
Gonna say 3 years, after he's won the Conference League, FA Cup and Europa League with successive top six finishes too. Poached by Barcelona. Zorro gonna surprise a few.
