Cracking start that. Typical first game of a tournament but we were much better than them all over the park. Managed the game really well in the heat and never looked like conceding. Top marks to Southgate, got it spot on. I wouldnt have played Sterling or Phillips and they were match winners. Nice to have a manager who can get tactics spot on against good sides - it will be the key going forward. Our subs bench is superb as well for this tournament, probably only France can match it. I am going to be optimistic and say we can match anyone.
Agreed. You never know, if Grealish had played we may have won 4-0, but today Southgate got his selection spot on.
Spot on, England rarely looked seriously troubled I think we'll see England play better against the Czech's and them north of the border, as the pressure will be off Wouldn't go that far like
Equal possession, shots and corners and, yes we won, but it's a grind as always ... ... with all that talent surely we can manage more than two attempts on goal. Without that goal we'd have been looking at a bore draw.
Should cause a bit chew. Although Southgate got it right I still think Harry Kane is the weak link in the England team. Yes he scores goals which is what it is all about but mostly they are laid on a plate for him. Rashford has pace, will take players on and will score goals. Rash, Foden, Mount and Sterling would be more formidable in my opinion. Having said that its maybe the wrong time to be negative about a player. We won we move on.
