prayers a flowing now. Brought me right back to where life really is. Always thought football was ‘it’. At my age l should have known better. Stay safe & well folks.
Very hard to watch. Had a really sgit couple of days and I've not slept, that tipped me over the edge. Had to stop watching before I broke the no crying over football rule.
That wasnt football though mate, it was life. It's just a reminder to not get hugely upset about a performance or result.
pleased to hear he was sitting up, alert and awake at hospital...more tests on him to come obviously. hope he makes a full recovery and i guess all our thoughts are with him and his family, regardless of 'your team' you cannot help but feel for the lad.
It was the toughest thing I’ve ever watched I think… but I couldn’t stop watching it. I’m screaming “get the ****ing cameras off him” but still watching every minute. Maybe just desperate to see him sit up, move voluntarily or something. It was harrowing and made me feel sick.
It's a horrible thing to watch happen. I remember watching it happen to Marc Vivian Foe at the Confederations Cup in 2003. At least the lessons were learned from that as Eriksen had treatment available straight away. Let's all hope that he makes a good recovery.
After witnessing that close-up, i'm pretty sure if I was one of those players or even an official I'd make sure that I had basic first aid training. Those few seconds before the medics came on could make all the difference. Should be standard procedure now, you could save your mates life. I'm sure the Captains actions mattered.
The fairground workers, next to the holiday complex I worked at in Antibes, stabbed a young Polish tourist in the inner thigh ... ... he was one of our guests and staggered back through the gates. We cut his leg open and grabbed the femoral artery but it was too slippery and he bled out in my arms. It all happened in a few minutes, absolutely horrible.
