Italy under Mancini play so much like Man City, makes me wonder if Pep has actually done anything other than spend money.
The Italians have played some quality football. Difficult to break down 10 behind the ball but I can't see them keeping the Italians out.
Italy 1-0 OG by the guy who plays for Juve, just trying to make sure he's still got a job tomorrow. #2002worldcup
2-0 This Italy side look excellent. So comfortable on the ball, their movement, the passing is brilliant to watch. If this is the standard then this is going to be a stonker tournament.
Turkey look really ordinary, but you get the feeling it's because Italy are making them look ordinary. Might need to be more clinical against better opposition, but they're making a strong statement tonight.
I was going to say, all of a sudden the England side don't look extraordinary anymore... but I have hope
I was thinking this, but a better side won't put 10 behind the ball and if the Italians play like tonight, they'll score earlier. Having said that, they haven't been tested defensively tonight... but they're Italians ffs, defending is their forte!
True. A lot of it is down to the midfield- Italy are overrunning them and able to play so high. Against France or Spain could be a really good game. I get the feeling England would be overrun and need to rely on pace up top.
