Sorry to sidetrack, but this is a true story. When I was at school I went on a geography fieldcourse to Malham Tarn Field Centre in Yorkshire. It's limestone country and we were being taught about clints and grykes in limestone pavement. There's a classic example above Malham Cove. The teacher was writing on a board one evening about TABULAR CLINTS in capital letters. Unfortunately, she joined the L to the I to look like a U. The class was in hysterics and she didn't have a clue what was going on.
