As one was meandering down the old apple and pears one was musing to oneself about this veritable conundrum. A plethora to choose from if truth be told. My favourite was and always will be Rhubarb Crumble, something one can enjoy to it's fullest after my GP introduced me to the panacea that is Omeprazole a couple of years back. I always used to like a tart on a Friday but that's a different story.
Plum crumble with vanilla ice cream has everything going for it. Except salt and urmammy whatever that is.
I like an old fashioned apple crumble with custard but half and half with rhubarb is also very nice. Has to have a decent shake of cinnamon. I make a spiffing apple pie and also a decent American style cherry pie. They both go well with quality vanilla ice cream. I've had peach cobbler in the States, all cooked up on an open fire. Looked like a dogs dinner but tasted nice if a bit too sweet for my liking. Going off thread but I also do a decent beef mince cobbler too. It's like a shepherd's pie with savory scone mix on top instead of mashed spuds.
I’m chucking it on there now my good Proddie mate, crust might get a bit burnt right enough, will I chuck one on for Big C as well?
