I've not really seen enough of either to comment properly, but from what I have seen, Foden is the technically better player but Mount is perhaps the more likely to force something to happen. Foden seems to need better players around him. I get the feeling that Mount might be the more effective player for England. But I agree - they're both great and you want both in your team. I see it more like @jaffaklopp put Mount in midfield and Foden further forward. Swap him with Grealish or Sancho in the team I put up earlier (tbh I forgot him when typing; all of those players can make a case for starting).
This is fairly similar to how I'd set them up. We've got a plethora of talented technical midfielders and forwards. God forbid but we could actually keep hold of the ball for more than 15 seconds. Pen teams in, push them back. We've got pace Avialable at the back to guard against the counter and the energy in Henderson or rice to get up and down the pitch. I'm going to be massively disappointed when the first match roles round and its the usual suspect taking the field playing the same olf kick and rush.
I'd much prefer to play 433 but I just don't think it suits the players we have particularly the CBs, they're not seeing enough and need protecting imo. That protection is either from Midfield (hence me going 4231 allowing the FBs to get forward) or defensive FBs that don't over commit. TBF, the 4231 I posted could quite easily be a 433 with Mount joining the two.
Mount is a pressing machine. Let the **** full backs like walker cover and use the wingers as wingers and attackers as attackers and go all out
foden dyes hair and makes a big deal of it on social media. immediate questions on him breaking bubble to do it arise. lol. engurlund. you couldn't make it up.
they are ignorant. If you saw someone booing in an aggressive or condescending way at someone making a peaceful protest out on the street you'd call them an inbred redneck. you'd think it a hate crime one on one. Its 500 or 1000 v 22. its stupidity and ignorance pure and simple. the peoepl who are standing next to them ought to drown them out with applause as someone said today.
They are entitled to express there opinion. Just because you don't agree with their opinion, doesn't make them ignorant, stupid, rednecks, racists or any other terms that get thrown at people who have a different opinion from the main stream flavour of the month. Edit: you as in people, not you as in you specifically.
I have no problem with the taking a knee. I think the waters got muddied by it's association with BLM. Looking at how that organisation is turning out, it's not entirely surprising that (some) people are against it. There's a certain irony in listening to the fans when it involves some things but not listening to them when it involves others.
I agree 100% that people are entitled to their opinion. what I’d like to understand is why boo? If you don’t agree, just be silent for 10 seconds. It’s 10 seconds out of a 3 hours day out? Does 22 men kneeling physically or mentally hurt you that you have to show your dislike? essentially they come across as ignorant and racist as what ever you think of it, it looks like your booing people who are kneeling in protest for equal rights and justice no matter who you are.
would turn that round and ask, why does them booing hurt so many peoples feeling could you not ignore them for 10 seconds. They kneel, they cheer, they boo its all an opinion non more valid than an other. Again, just because they don't agree doesn't make them wrong. If you listen to the reasons why they boo, they are as valid as why the players kneel. I've no understanding why just because someone holds an opposing opinion they now must be branded as something
I admire the reason for taking the knee. It's a very visible act of showing their unity against racism. I do think though, that it's had it's day (for now) unless they plan on doing it forever. If they do, will it lose it's impact? I don't like fans booing anything but I think it's wrong to say it's because they are ignorant or racist. If it's really being seen as a racist gesture then they should be escorting those doing it, out of the stadium and arresting or banning them. Like with most things, it's a battle of opinions.
It does cos I'm as entitled to my opinion of them as they are of their racist neanderthal opinions of booing at black players making a point. But I recognise their right to Express their stupidity fully and shamefully. I see in the news that the Hungarian prime minister or president (right wing) accused republic if ireland players of "provoking" his white Arian fascists who threw abuse at players this week If anyone would take a step back of a second and think would they want to be associated with the likes of that guy. After all people apparently voted brexit to get away from these types of Europeans.
So you think they're only booing "the black players making a point"? You wouldn't be making a racist comment now would you
This sort of ****e makes me laugh, they may boo, but they are not spewing insults unlike the obviously more enlightened mito.
Are you confusing accusing a white Male of racism with actual racism? It's kinda be like saying people calling for justice for George floyd or being racists cos they say black lives matter not all lives matter.
