Joe Gomez has got a great long throw. I think we use our throw ins well but he's got a longer throw than either Trent or Robbo. Obviously not enough to want to stick him in the RB position but just pointing out a positive.
Heard this on the grapevine and pls dont shoot the messenger but I'm hearing that Raphinha is pretty much done. A deal for approx £40m, possibly with Harry Wilson going that way.
He would be a really good signing if this goes through. Fits our style perfectly and his numbers can definitely be scaled up if he joins.
Trent's got a long throw too, just doesn't use it often. Mainly because of his technique; he puts one hand behind the ball rather than both hands away the side, enables him to launch it whilst still a legal throw (not that foul throws ever get pulled up)
A utd game i watched last season, Wan bukkake was pulled up for two foul throws. Can slide tackle tho
That's all thanks to that throw in coach we hired a couple of years ago. Marginal gains but we have the best ball retention from our throw-ins than any other team in the league.
The BBC desperate to decorate man u as per usual, but they probably do believe the valuations. please log in to view this image
He's been tracked for 2 years. I wouldn't be shocked but Leeds were at least pretending to have no interest in Wilson. Imo is would fit klopp like an arse on a bucket
Most long throws go far too high to be any use to anyone. They are counter productive as they can't be scored off and people pile round the keeper and end up giving frees away. A flat trajectory long throw is bloody hard to do
Rory Delap is the best known for long throws. "According to Stats Perform data, Delap directly assisted on five Premier League goals from throw-ins and Stoke City as a whole have scored 24 goals from those situations. Since 2008-09, no other player has more than two direct throw-in assists, and no other club has scored more than 12 goals from throw-ins" (3 May 2020)
