Levy's full of ****. If you take that as a given, everything else makes perfect sense.

He's trying to save his arse, following having to admit that the best paid executive in the PL had been asleep at his post for the last 3 years. You'd need to be ****ing brain dead to fall for this crap

    What you said was false

We approached ten Hag two weeks after sacking the ubermensch
We approached Conte a week after he became available

Buzzwords thrown around by knee jerk reactionaries on Twitter don't add to an argument, only subtract from it

You might have missed the post you made mate

Except when we are quick at approaching Conte..........April to June quick?

You must have known Jose was going weeks before you pulled the trigger yet you left it so late to approach Ten Haig that he signed an extension to his contract .
This is just piss poor management and can have no excuses.

He always gets away with it though.

Very telling that some fans are relieved that Conte won’t be appointed or that they blame Conte and not Levy. Some people still think he’s some sort of genius and a Spurs fans when in reality he’s there to make as much money as possible (for himself and the club)

    What argument?

Fact is the club still doesn’t have a manager (not even close to one) and is now onto plan D or is it E?

Tbf Conte only became available recently. I don’t have any issues with the time taken with him, just the fact they tried to talk to him and knew what he would want and then talks break down because he wouldn’t compromise and neither would the club.

Ten Hag issue was Ajax extending his contract but my gripe with that is that he is still attainable just a bit more expensive, if the club really wanted him then why not pay it instead of penny pinching as per.

There's a lot of stupid out there. I was a fan for his single mindedness in getting the stadium built....but since then, he's ****ed everything up good and proper.

Until he's removed from controlling the football club, we're screwed...and he DOESN'T WANT TO GIVE UP THAT CONTROL.

Until he ****s off, ENIC are going to have to do it without my money. I'm done with Levy's lies and incompetence.

If he’s trying to save his arse he’s doing a **** job. Pay up for Ten Hag or commit to Potter. Stop ****ing around with manager who don’t fit the brief.

In the case of the current squad, the last eighteen months have demonstrated why we want to see us playing on the front foot - because we're two midfielders short of being able to be remotely confident of grinding out a 1-0 win, yet far too often we were set up to do that and promptly dropped points which is why we are where we currently are

It also has to be said that the last two times we won Big Shiny Thing Make Life Better we were utterly dire to watch, with George Graham's tactics so dreadful that Wimbledon fans took the piss out of them while Juande Ramos literally didn't have tactics for at least half of his games, and as a result nobody really has fond memories of either because the former was tedious and the latter saw us fall apart once we lost the Keane/Berbatov partnership that was carrying the team

And that's one reason why Spurs fans want to enjoy watching us play, because if we're playing good football that means we don't get reminders of when the likes of Sheringham, Ginola, Klinsmann etc were clearly better than the rest of the team they were trying to drag up to play like a team who knew what they are doing because the team is at that level where they know what they're doing rather than a bunch of drunks playing Rainbow Six Siege

Now that the season ticket renewal date has come and gone, all the expensive names, requiring serious squad investment, can be forgotten.

Now, it's Eddie Howe as the 'New Chump' and dealing Kane for Frazier 'Bloody' Campbell.

There'll be plenty who'll lap it up and call for more of the same.

Bold 1, so you think Levy needs to open the purse then to make you competitive?

Bold 2, did you miss the part i posted about why players and managers are in the game?

Bold 3, join 1 and 2 together and you will be starting to understand.

I feel pretty sure you don't speak for Spurs fans as a whole

It looked pretty sure he was going a week or so earlier, as Alasdair Gold noticeably flipped on him with some scathing match reports which certainly looked like the club got word to him to prime his followers for the axe to fall

However, the Ten Hag situation really wasn't what you describe: he simply said he wouldn't enter negotiations until the Eredivisie title was wrapped up, which is fair enough, and it's not like he signed a new contract as Ajax triggered a clause in his contract to extend it by another year so instead of having a year to run he has two

The real question is when a DoF got on the agenda, as that seems to be the main holdup now given Paratici quit Juve two weeks ago yet was giving his farewell press conference yesterday lunchtime, and by adding a DoF to the equation does have the knock-on effect of affecting managerial searches - and this is just speculation on my part, but that suddenly makes Conte look like trying to get the DoF and coach in place as quickly as possible based on Conte and Paratici working together at Juve, which is somehow both acting quickly yet also acting like maybe we should have taken a moment to consider if that was the move we should be making

Ten Hag doesn't sell season tickets like Poch or Conte. ENIC's legacy is the deal that didn't quite happen...and people still fall for it...?

    Mind boggling stuff!

Personally, I wanted Potter, a qualified and experienced DoF and a rebuild...but there's no ticket sales in that, so here we are...

    ....but Daniel tried....

The fact is we moved quickly for both Paratici and Conte when they became available, just as we moved quickly for ten Hag when he was open for talks

And we also ended talks with Conte quickly when it was clear we were pulling in different directions, unlike when we wasted months courti g van Gaal only for him to brush us off the second a larger chequebook was dangled in front of him

Do you not think it was obvious what Conte would demand though? I struggle to believe that Levy wouldn’t be aware of why Conte quit Inter? Or did he really think he could sweet talk him into accepting the job under Levy’s terms?

I’ve always been on board with that. We need someone with the clout to work the recruitment and long-term planning and a coach who will play good, winning football and promote youth.

I understand this and have liked the post because of it, the point you are missing is that Hag was you first/main choice and Levy pulled out as soon as it was going to cost a bit more than he thought. He then waited until a free agent became available but balked at the fact he might want to buy some players to make you competitive.
I understand you love the club and will back them to the hilt but Levy is not the club and is definitely not giving them the same level of backing you are giving him.

There's no plan or principles other than to keep the money rolling in. Levy's end of season statement was the biggest pile of horseshit I've ever seen...and people thought that things would change?

Nothing's changing whilst the sheep keep bankrolling Levy's lies

I would like the ENIC out people to post a list of prospective owners purchasers of our club in the current climate. You probably won’t need a sheet of paper larger than A5 and an even smaller one for owners that would be acceptable to many of us for ethical or political reasons. I am probably older than most of you and seen two titles, three European trophies, lots of cups and also relegations and years of absolute dire performances. 8 of the last eleven seasons have produced some of the best football I have seen at WHL and we now have the infrastructure to push on. Levy has made mistakes recently but I doubt that it was for personal profit and the fact that he has broken off talks with Conte indicates to me that he has learnt his lesson from Mourinho. Unless we end up with warmongers or similar as our owners I will continue to support the club and the team

1.) What we need is players who fit those roles. For the most obvious example, Levy opened the purse to sign Ndombele - and he is neither the Modric nor Dembele we need, instead he's Tom Huddlestone with dribbling ability

2.) The fact Ramos very quickly dropped out of rolodexes and wound up at Dnipro underlines the other side of the argument: some managers win in spite of themselves, for example at Sevilla Ramos had Monchi make a team for him and that won a few baubles - but without Monchi building a team for him he turned out to be a bog standard coach with a baffling intolerance for ketchup

3.) When you have a disjointed bunch carried by o e or two players that's not winning, because an injury here or tapping-up campaign there will make the whole thing fall apart, as the Jol/Ramos team when Berbatov and Keane left or AVB's team did when Bale left. On the other hand Poch's team fell apart as the spine was broken by Dembele and Wanyama falling apart, yet in spite of that it could still win games and play good football...just not at the same time, and that was exacerbated with the idiotic approach we adopted in the middle of the season just gone about trying to grind out wins with the wrong personnel for it

The fact is Poch could grind out a 1-0 win with largely the same squad, and it has to be said the pivots that helped us do this weren't massively expensive (Dier/Dembele was £17.5m in total, Wanyama/Dembele £26m) but the point was we could grind if we had to, and that’s the difference as having monotonous games as we did under Graham, Santini, Ramos, AVB and the ubermensch doesn't become tolerable if a trinket comes with it as it usually does a poor job masking flaws either with our squad or our manager - or both
