Yes, obviously I was wrong about that. It'll be interesting to see if jockeys decide to explore other parts of the track in the remaining races.
Lucky owners who deserve all the success they get. Have an attractively bred mare in La Pyle. After Pyledriver she produced a New Approach filly, Country Pyle, who is yet to run but must be worth a bit as a broodmare now. There's a 2yo colt by Oasis Dream called Stockpyle who hopefully will appear later this year. Mare comes from the Aga Khan's 'L' family which was originally a Boussac family. As Grendel said daft placing last year.
What a run by Pyledriver, simply out-gutted Al Aasy in the closing stages. Great, great, ride by Martin Dwyer. Phew, what a race!
Martin Dwyer stole that race. Great ride. Outthought Crowley and the horse outbattled Al Aasy. They must be cursing sending Pyledriver to the Leger instead of the Arc. Maybe they will have a go this year
Bugger. Just about to post that Blue Cup will win this and realised I was a few minutes behind time having paused it earlier and forgot to catch up. Just as I caught up Blue Cup was about 4th and about to swoop through. I listened to the trainer before the race and he convinced me. It wasn't my brilliant tipping, so no after timing
I didn't know Frankie's mum was a circus performer. Obviously that's where he got his natural balance from. I think I have a bit of a thing for Francesca; all class
Just watched the Coronation Cup replay and you have to say the camber at Epsom played a massive part in the finish - on a flat track Al Aasy would have won 2 or 3 lengths going away but he hung badly down the hill, jockey had all on keeping his straight and that allowed Pyledriver back into it. I still think Al Aasy will take all the beating in the King George and Arc. BTW I cycled home from work in 27 degrees it nearly ****ing killed me and then I see Epsom looking like Haydock in January
Wow!!! Was put off by her drifting price today, and the hype around Santa Barbara but I did think her performance in the Musidora was good. But that performance was outstanding
