Classical of an England manager being swayed and frightened by media hype and backlash. Why would any reasonable manager include FOUR right sided full backs in their squad when they only take 2 left sided FBs, and 4 CBs? This is just insane. One will be regular, the other cover or on the bench. And the other 2?
Nuno is rumoured to want a move abroad, his family is still in Portugal although he's also been linked with Palace. To my mind Everton need to hit the restart button. Not in the way they've been doing it though by throwing money at anyone and everyone. Moshiri isn't a football man and doesn't appear to have a clue. We talk all the time about wanting players like we're playing FM. Moshiri literally is playing a real life version of FM where he has the actual money to buy the actual players and managers except he doesn't have the skill or knowledge to play the game. Add to that a DoF with no evidence that whatever it is he does is working either. Patience is required but it's in very short supply at Everton. If they could rewind the clock and stick with one of the past 5 managers they've had, they would be further along the road to building something.
According to The Athletic, the following managers are on Everton's shortlist.. Nuno Steven Gerrard Rafa Benitez David Moyes Paulo Fonseca Erik Ten Hag Roberto Martinez Please reappoint Martinez
I have it on good authority that Gerrard is totally made up at Rangers and sees them dominating for the next four/five years, and that'll coincide with taking over at Liverpool when Klopp goes. Hes certainly in no rush to go. Itll take one of Europe's or the Prems top jobs to prize him away. Soz, but that ain't Evertenth.
Big Sam Little Sam, Moyes, Howe or maybe Frank Lampard. But Gerrard wouldn't take a step down from the huns to go to Goodison.
He has to make a name in the PL and will take a job like Everton is offered (he is not a Liverpool player anymore). Being good in Scotland means very little in real life, how many big clubs have been chasing Lennon.
Think you are wrong on this one He knows that as long as he stays put and is successful in Rangers that the Liverpool job whether we agree or not is his in 3-5 years If he goes to Everten he loses that chance whether successful or not. The word is Andy Goldstein started this rumour as a wum to see if they could run it to get legs He may goto Everten after Liverpool but he wants that job after Klopp imho
I'm sure he has his heart set on the Liverpool job in the future and going to Everton would really put the kibosh on that, imo. Your last sentence is correct, but not really the salient point.
As others have said, he wants to manage Liverpool. Going to Everton kills that objective. I don't think he'd join Everton regardless. Rafa as previously said he'd never join Everton (or Man Utd).
Serious question, why does it "kill that objective"? Does it really matter where the man gets his learining whilst waiting for the offer he wants?
