"I’ve never bet in a casino; it’s just not something I do. But my owner and my managing director are from that world, they want to socialise in that world and there have been occasions — and there will be in the future — when I go in there with them."

    Lie...

I’m not an advocate of, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” I’m always thinking “how I can do it better?”’

Good to hear! Hope this means he will put Marveaux in the starting line up!

Good to hear we'll be signing a new striker in the next window... or the one after that...

Great interview by pards sounds like a down to earth guy and gives me confidence he knows what he is doing and building for the future. I hope the fans give him a good sing song against spuds tomorrow!

Comes across very very well. Seems like a decent guy, down to earth and all that. Although I dont think he will ever be held in the same regard as Hughton he still has the potential to become a big part of the clubs history.

So much love for Pardew after reading that. Seems like his head is screwed on right and, he definitely knows the right things to say. Whether that's for an alterior motive or whatever, he seems like someone trustworthy and down to earth <ok>

This sentence doesn't compute. Hughton was a lovely fella, but if Pards manages to become 'a big part of the clubs history', or frankly just gets us back into Europe he's already above the vast majority of the managers I've seen in my lifetime, including CH.

Instantly thought that too, can't think of anybody else it could be either. I like that Pardew has a proper working background, I had no idea until I read this.

Same. Well I thought "Richardson", couldn't remember his first name.

Great interview. I really do rate Pardew highly.

Its more that alot of people are still fairly bitter about how Hughton was booted out and the rumors which circulated about Pardew, being MA's gambling buddy for example. A fair few people still think hes just a puppet. He will have to do a hell of alot to be held with the same hero status as Hughton. Ive never heard any 'theres only one Alan Pardew chants yet'.

He definately knows what to say, and I do believe he is doing a good job. Would he have done this interview if we had a bad start to the season? Probably not, but I do respect what he's done.

Also in my eyes he is above Hughton in terms of tactics, man-management and is just as much a likeable bloke.

I like Pardew, he seems like a grafter that's not afraid of a challenge and a bit of hard work. How many lazy ****s are their in all walks of life that shy away from a bit of hard work?

that to me was the one negative thing in the whole interview,it was the only thing that made me go hold on,what the **** here we go the excuses are in place already.
Apart from that it's a pretty positive interview which makes me feel the club under pardew is heading in the right direction example of this is this line -
hands up if a smile of smugness didn't cross your face after reading that bit :)

yeah, that coment struck me as a bit iffy, but on the flipside once Pardew gets his favoured formation playing consistently, there'll only be room for Best or Ba on the pitch anyway and if they keep up their form a striker won't urgently be needed. (also, wellition on a free in the summer;))
