Rather than take half a sentance out of context have a look at what i've been posting the last few days. We need a mix of players. The right skills and atributes and massively mindset. Most great sides have 3 or 4 experienced players then the rest or younger up and coming or youth team making step up. Its how I see us next season. We've Wright and Winchester who I think will be involved, wonder who else we bring in.

Rather than accusing me of just jumping in on out of context quotes and ignoring my point, why don't you consider that the reason we have a youth set up is to train footballers!

By the time they get to 23 most players will have had professional training since they were 10 - many since they were 8.

They will have been academy products since they were 16, so 7 years of experience.

Brentford don't need older players to be examples for younger forwards and midfielders so what exactly does a team on the verge of the premiership NOT have to teach us?

We are already aware of the fact that goal keepers and defenders mature later, so apart from that area, why on earth are we asking for more experienced players when what we want is to give opportunity to more young talent?

A football team is like any other area of life. A mix is needed. Look at Liverpool last season. They had Milner and Henderson is no spring chicken. City have a lot of experience. Chelsea got to European final by utilising their older players alongside the young. Even the famous can't win out with kids team had older players to help the youngsters along. If a mix wasn't required we'd just replace the first team with u23s each year as I'd be cheaper.

Henderson was 21 when he went to Liverpool so I think your argument is basically flawed!

If (once over his injury) he is still playing in their side it is because he is good enough, not because he brings experience to pass on to their younger players!

KLD has explained what his vision is for SAFC. To be successful and to be self financing. He even told us how this was to be achieved, young players, preferably the product of our own academy, who we can later sell on to generate revenue for the club.

    In other words, pure moneyball.

Those calling for experienced, ie older, players are totally at odds with the stated ruling philosophy of our ownership.

No one is saying we should have a team of older players. I'm certainly not. 2 or 3 Is the norm and that's 25 -30 odd. I mentioned Henderson last season at 30 winning league not at 21. When he joined Liverpool they had carragher Gerrard and reina amongst others giving experience. It's like anything in life. Great to have new life and youth but a mix is needed. I see embleton diamond Neil and younger playing but O'Nein will be 27 so older alongside them. Wright is 30 and will be important. It's only start of close season. We'll soon see how it pans out but our recruitment won't be players under 23 only. Expect the unexpected this year.

I see McLaughlans names been brought up a couple of times.
Im not sure how fans think its financially feasible to give a player like him with such a poor injury record a new contract. The fact he missed the games we needed him most tells its own story.
Yes he was fairly solid at the back. He had zero pace though, he was probably a consistent 6/7 out of 10 performer. Thats not good enough in my opinion.

I liked max power and thought he was pretty decent when he came in.
Was talking to my best mate today.
A Wolves fan, he complained that underperforming players who leave Wolves tend do do well and good players coming in don't.
I said "tell me about it" :D

He thinks we'll do it next season.
    Hope he's right.

I am a fan of his. We look a much better side whenever he is in it and I think he allows other players to play better because they trust him. But I do agree his injury record is a problem and we need to move on.

Maybe not if he had another 30 goal season, we go up and the we sell him.

However, in my opinion, he limits our playing style and makes us predictable to play against. I also don't see him as the centre forward to lead us if we were promoted to the championship so we would have to replace him if we were promoted.

Ideally I would like to see a young flexible front 3 that can interchange positions thus making it more difficult for opposing teams to set up to nullify our attack. This of course is all dependent upon finding 3 decent forwards that can share the goals between them and develop into a potent attacking force.

Actually looking at my earlier comment Wyke is not a centre forward in the old sense he is a goal scorer and people think he's a centre forward because he is a big lad

The good point is that I don't have to make that decision, that is what LJ and KS get paid for, hope they make the right decisions for the club. I know they have stated that there is a defined way that they wish us to play so it depends if Wyke suits that style of play. Good luck with that decision lads.

I hope he gets snapped up by SAFC in some capacity, think he has a lot to offer.
