Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson eyes reunion with former Leicester City midfielder Matty James impressed while on loan at Coventry City in the second half of last season https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport.../bristol-city-nigel-pearson-leicester-5451963
Any player that I read has had injury problems, such as Matty James worries me with the setup we have and the high amount of injuries we sustained last season.
I agree, however I suppose if you look at the season that has just ended he has actually played in 39 games, 15 for Barnsley up until January and 24 for Coventry from January onwards and that I suppose must be the best evidence of fitness and our medical set up has changed from Ashton's mate.
Rob Atkinson and Bristol City: What do we know so far? Is a transfer likely to happen? https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/r...e-know-so-far-is-a-transfer-likely-to-happen/
keep them coming WIZ … HOWEVER BCFC has had a plan in action for quite a while … don't give anything away as do not want to encourage others to stir the pot …… I did have a list of all the "rumours", named targets that came under the heading "have it on good authority that...." "led to believe by insider …" over 3 transfer periods think it was 17/18 ..18 / 19 seasons. do not know the figures but can remember we signed about 6% … …. on that basis we need quite a few more names …. I would suspect that in 2 weeks time when most of the prem teams have ditched their cast off's we will be in the mix!.. to sign a couple … not sure what NP's plan is squad wise? .. balance of it! age / loan / experience. assuming he was thinking we wont win any of the last 6 games he did play a few youngsters … "the need to sell" was a priority in past 3 seasons sold the younger better players and replaced with a couple more etc... so never got a team well gelled! … probably needs 5 players? plus replacing any sales!
It's nice to see a lot of transfer rumours because we all know that we will almost certainly need quite a few players. It will be interesting to see who we bring in given that for several years we were off the radar for a lot of potential transfer targets and over the coming weeks we may start to see the formation for the future. One of the major attributes of having Nigel as our manager is that I think he will only bring in players who have good skills and will sing to his tune. Belief in your manager to give you your best shot at making the squad is essential and let's hope that finally we can hold our heads high.
Agree - but the guy has just played a full Championship season and he is a top player. If he had not had the injuries I believe he would now be a Prem player. It is only the fact he had 2-3 years of bad injuries that means BCFC have a chance of signing such a good player at what should be his prime. I would be very happy with this signing if (and it is a big if) we can get him.
It can go either way , Manson did too when we loaned him and he didn’t last long, there are examples either way. Any transfer/loan is a risk.
Likewise with signing Williams. Hopefully if he is signing and from the write ups seems a really good buy then I hope our new medical team are loads better than the last lot we had.
If they aren’t we are deep in the sh*t, our squad will be much smaller & we won’t be able to carry as many injuries
