I obviously don't watch enough MotD or PL football on other channels as there's a few names on that list who I've never heard of
Bellingham is a fantastic prospect. In my opinion this is a very exciting squad, filled with brilliantly talented youngsters. Going forward, we are the envy of almost every other nation. Goalkeeper and defence are not so good, so we'll need some luck and must take our chances.
Absolutely it was about time that Southgate recognised his ability....... Also has probably cost us some cash as well as no doubt an England cap was factored in to the add on's......... still we'll get that when he does get back to full fitness.... wish him well
Big disappointment for Eze, but he seems to have built a new drive into his career that will surely take him to the England squad once he is fit and back playing regularly. Best wishes for a full recovery lad, well all be rooting for you!
Squad announced; https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/57321188 No major surprises as far as I can see. Looks like a decent squad, but I've said that for the last few international competitions and ended up being disappointed. I won't allow myself to get excited unless we cruise through the group stage.
Can’t justify our joint-favourites tag with those goalkeepers/centre-halves. Good to have four right-backs though.
Bizarre to pick four right-backs. I'm a bit disappointed not to see Ward-Prowse in the squad. His dead-ball delivery is the best in the league.
Might play two, Walker as part of back three and a wing back. I’m not feeling especially confident about England at the moment.
I think Trippier is seen as cover for LB and RB. Walker probably picked primarily as a right sided CB (per SB's post above). TAA (imo) good enough to play anywhere on that right side. I think James is the only out and out right back. Sort of makes sense to me.
The CBs frighten me in a bad way. We will concede a few we should not. That will be the problem later on in the tournament
Looking at the draw (here : https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/...6773df7faed-1000--euro-2020-all-the-fixtures/) it looks like the winner of our group will face second in group F, likely Germany or France in the next round, whereas for some reason the team that finishes second in our group, will play the team that finishes second in group E, likely one of Slovakia, Sweden or Poland. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, and I know you always want to carry winning form throughout a major competition, but finishing second in our group could give us an easier draw. Thoughts? Or do we ignore other groups and just go hell for leather to win every game?
Under this manager we aren’t going hell for leather to win every game unless we are losing with 20 minutes to go. Playing silly buggers like deliberately not winning games to get a so called preferable draw is just daft.
