Will take a chance on Chain Smoker in the 3.30 at Bangor. Stable debut wasn't without promise when a keeping on 4th on good ground two runs ago. Pulled up last time out at Warwick in a seemingly deeper race on soft. Races off a career-low mark tomorrow and stable had a longshot in 3rd place last week. I like jockey Tabitha Worseley. Worth a small each way bet
I suppose I'll have to come up with an alternative selection now. What a drag. Any one else got a tip?
Jason Hart double up at Muss today... 1:45 - Boudica Bay, 3/1 Has a good strike rate with Eric Alston and the course, and will t love the ground... 3.30 - Clay Regazzoni, 7/2 Dropped in the weights, with a bit of money coming for it, this Dalgleish runner might be able to get the better of the rest after failing to get the 1m2f he raced in lto… Singles n a double...
Peter The Great won the Wood Ditton last time out and hasn't been pitched in very highly on his next start. He lines up at Newcastle in a Class 5 Novice where there are some real old cuddies in opposition. The chief danger seems to be Nagano, who actually ran third in the Wood Ditton before going on to win when upped in distance next time. Nagano is actually favourite this evening but I think the Gosden horse is entitled to improve as well and he looked ready for the step up to 10F in the Wood Ditton. I am a little worried that Gosden has kept the colt's ambitions quite low for now but I would have him favourite here. There are a couple of others to consider but if the son of New Approach has improved as much as an average Gosden horse would be expected to do on their second start, I think he should win this. 6.55 Newcastle Peter The Great 9/4 Hopefully he will come Russian through and score top Marx.
Thought I had the winner for a while with Peter The Great but it quickly became inevitable that he was going to be worn down. Nagano Gold has probably progressed again and the pair were well clear of the others. I don't think either horse is destined for big things, although you would be worried about the rest, who are surely handicap material.
Crikey, did anyone see Bird for Life win that race. Breath-taking And in the race at Newcastle I thought I had blown a virtual £800 and nearly had a virtual heart attack
