7 months ago our 13 year old Border Terrier died. Always knew we'd get another dog once the raw edge of losing her had passed.
Been looking for months without success, scouring the country.
By chance our daughter told us a friend had a suitable litter ready to go. Not the border we wanted but a border x jack russell. Went to see them last monday. Picked one up on wednesday.
I'd forgotten how tiring and time consuming puppies are.<yikes>
Worse than babies (from what I remember). At least they stay where you put them and you can put a nappy on them.

Been up about 3 hours with him. Did what he needed to in the garden first thing. Played, had his breakfast, played some more. Spent a load of time in the garden so he had chance to go again but he didnt.
Started typing this and he p!ssed on the carpet. Took him back outside. Nothing. Came back in, made a brew and he'd $h!t on the tiles.:steam:
He's curled up having a snooze, charging his batteries for round 2 now.<wah>

Rejoin the club! I've had "double trouble" for years now with mine.

If you can picture two AA dogs in that advert facing into that fan with their fur blowing back - that's them to a tee. <laugh>

I am of course referring to just two of them............<whistle>

Seemed like a good idea at the time and no doubt will be longer term.
Up until 15 months ago we had our BT and the two working collies of my daughter. She took them with her when she moved out, though we see them most days.
Short haired dogs get in enough of a mess with our lifestyle. Long hair is a no no.
Looking forward to him having his 2nd jabs so he can get out and about. Carried him to see the cows, sheep and chickens a couple days ago. He's not had a close encounter with the horses or been on the quad or tractor yet.
Will have to get him used to the hose pipe as well.<laugh>
The collies sometimes need the hose treatment though one of them often jumps in a water trough of his own accord.

Absolutely love puppies (get down Masky). If only we could bottle their energy and enthusiasm. Every day is a brand new experience to be explored with maximum vigor.

I say this from the angle of never having owned a dog. They're like babies - great fun to be with - for a while - on the basis you can give them back when you like. Strangely I rarely meet a dog, of any age, that doesn't like me. They have impeccable judgement.

Can't say the same for humans. <whistle>

    Thanks for asking clingo.
So, just over 5 months old now. Much bigger (though he'll only ever be a small dog) but just as lively.
Fully house trained now and asks to go out when he needs to.
Chewing everything as he's losing his puppy teeth.
Another few weeks and he's going to the vet when he will lose a couple other things.:emoticon-0120-doh:
He's pretty well behaved though has that typical terrier trait when he gets on the scent of something. He goes selectively deaf.
    Doesnt chase the chickens now.
Curious about sheep and loves the calves (moo, not legs).
Happy enough traveling in the car and puts up with being on the tractor.
Pesters the hell out of my daughter's two collies.
Been to the pub with us but all he wanted to do was make friends with people in the beer garden.
Told mrs remote we have to keep going back until hes used to it.<cheers>
Will post a few piccies when I get home.

Sounds like a typical, lovely little dog.

We have an attack cat who loves people and, strangely other cats, but hates dogs so ownership of a dog is not possible while the puss is around.

However I regularly walk a dog for a friend and our daughter has a 10 year old Maltese who loves a walk.

Dogs' needs are so simple. A bit like Masky's. <whistle>

True story we had a change of postman once and my fathers dog was in the garden.

The postman for the day was/is a Swansea fan my father recognises him. He sees the dog and asks is the dog ok. My father replies perfectly fine with everyone but doesnt like Swansea fans. Postman goes oh im a Swansea fan better not come in hands over the mail and walks off.

I still wonder if he ever stopped and thought about it. Bright dog but didnt have a talent of identifying Jacks.
