I agree but when you’re budgeting for next season £40k a week in wages goes a long way. It’s a lot of money for a number two and it sets a precedent, Meslier would be within his rights to expect at least equal as much
Fair point. If we were able to off load Kiko I would love to see Scott Carson come in as number 2. This is not a ex player thing btw. He is a hugely experienced player at the end of his career. He has not been first choice anywhere for a while and so will know what his role is now. He has been back up at Man City this season as well. His wages would be a lot less than 40k and imagine Melsier training week in week out with someone with that experience.
OH What a way to finish off the season and say goodbye to a couple of our favorites, i would guess tears and a lump in our throats all round. Been a thoroughly enjoyable season, who said it wouldn't be as enjoyable as the championship? The team has been great, exciting, flamboyant at times, but to me most of all entertaining, what more can you ask from a football club?. As i said before under Bielsa and with a steady helm of the board with this core of players incredible as it sounds things will get even better, just can't wait now for the new season. So a big thank you from me to Bielsa, and all the players for giving me all those exciting moments in this gloomy pandemic. MOT
Having Kiko is no great hardship because on the whole he aint a bad keeper. His problem was that he made a couple of howlers and that gets to some people and then it gets to the crowd too and before you know it everyone bricks it when he gets near the ball. He did well in these last 2 games and deserved 2 clean sheets but Phillips cock up cost him that. His salary will not be a problem for Meslier or anyone else, simply because they all know that any players who are free which means the club have got without paying a transfer fee of millions, gets more wages. Its just a well known fact in football so Meslier will be cool with it Already transfers are getting agreed and so far none are for money. David Alaba is signing for Real Madrid on a free, Aguero and another 4 top players signing for Barcelona all on frees. This Summer is going to be lots of free moves and not so many as usual transfer fees be interesting to see if we bring in any freebies or loans
Nope, Aliski is off. Dallas was talking after the game saying how he is going to miss Hernandez, Berardi and Alioski
I think Brentford may possibly have put too much emotional energy into that 2nd leg. Even at the start, it seemed like they were boiling over, with the manager doing a lap of honour pre-match.
Rodrigo dropped from the Spanish squad, hopefully he’ll use the time to prepare himself for a storming start to the new season
Hope everyone has been on the bbc sports football web site to vote Marcelo Bielsa as manager of the season
Great day yesterday, it brought a tear to the eye. I have to admit Alioski has been a revelation recently, I was his harshest critic but I must give credit where it's due. I'm nearly sorry to see him go. Not being English I would be more than happy for KP to miss out on the Euros and be fresh and ready to roll for the new season.
