Luckily we're heading into a summer transfer window, which is a surefire way for any toxicity in our fanbase to calm down...
PL : One general thing to note is that the season as a whole was quite strange. Notable statistically significant traits for a team that finishes in the top 4 are : 1. GD >= 30 2. GA < 40 This season, only one team achieved #1, and two achieved #2. The comparison with 2019-20 is as follows : Final placing = +1, pts = +3, GD = +9. Spurs have missed out on a CL slot by 5 pts (7 pts in 2019-20) . So effectively 5 more draws were needed as results. The worst aspect of the season was the frequent spineless mindset and morale. For the former it mainly manifested itself as the attempts to sit on 1-0 leads when going for the kill was often more than an option. For the latter twas the near weekly match weeks in the final third of the season, where rival results beforehand went Spurs way and the motivation to win the next game was as clear as day.
I've faith in Levy. I think he's going to do everything he can to get the club back on track. He will not want to see his investments dwindle.
The last minute goals conceded was the real issue. The Newcastle one was the result of two referring errors ...it wasn't a foul by Hojbjerg and it wasn't a handball. The West Ham one was a worldie which wouldn't have mattered if Bale had scored an easy chance just before. The Liverpool one was arguably a foul. Wipe those out and we come fourth at worst. Probably higher because with those changes we stay at the top of the table for much longer and Mourinho doesn't go so negative.
Anyway, back to my happy place Football Manager 2012 The one time that Souleymane Coulibaly has been potentially world class while Harry Kane was a good squad option
A season that started with a fair bit of hope but one that ended as an utter nightmare, is the best way I can describe it in a sentence. The one good thing from this season could be leaving too so that can just potentially compound matters further. Though a potential good thing is that this club will ideally bin off a bunch of ****ers that have been stealing a living in our shirt for too long. Never had such disdain for so many of our own before and with a bit of luck I'll be seeing the back of many.
**** me.... this is like watching one of those extreme Christian sects flogging themselves for sins... Ain't we suffered enough with out doing this to ourselves ?
We`ve been shiete for large parts of the season, but yes those last minute goals cost us, along with some farcical refereeing. How many dodgy penalties did we have given against us, Arsenal away, Everton away, Chelsea home, City away with the game at 0-0, and how many goals did we have disallowed for toenail offsides, Kane at Leeds, Son v Pool with the game 0-0, not to mention Allison being allowed to pick the ball up from outside his area, game changing bad decisions that all add up to potentially dropped points.
